Sub Teaching - 2 days, 2 stories...

Yesterday I was at (Sl)Easley HS. 4 classes of 9th grade Physical Science. Worst kids in the county. 1 walked in and said "I don't plan on doing any work today" and the classes went downhill from there. I emailed the teacher and the principal. No response from either.

Today - 3 Spanish 2 classesat Seneca HS. They're watching a Disney movie subtitled in Spanish. Not expecting many probs.

I told the Easley admin that if they are going to move me to this teacher's class (I was supposed to have 2 AP Chem and 1 Honors Chem for another teacher) to let me know so I could call in sick.

The things I do for upstate kids. Don't think I'll sign up for EHS anymore.

so if a kid acts fool in a class that has a sub they'll probably end up with a harsher punishment than a regular teacher.

My last semester at Clemson I had a physics class that I needed to graduate and me not being a disciple of the Satanic witchcraft of mathematics, I struggled mightily and was barely passing the course. There was a young soccer player in the class that thought he was still the high school class clown and gave the instructor grief every day and made it tougher on the rest of us. Reviewing for a test one morning, this little Yankee loudmouth was in azzhole hyperdrive and I'd finally had enough. I stood up and yelled at him to sit down and shut up in no uncertain vulgar Rock Hill redneck terms. I felt kind of embarrassed at the outburst and the language, but nobody said anything to me and the class continued on. Loudmouth kept himself in check the rest of the semester and I was shocked to end up with a B when I most assuredly deserved a D at best. I think working in the bars my entire Clemson career paid off big time in that instance.
