The facts are simple: We are not an elite offensive team

If you want to be elite then you have to compete at an elite level. Our ceiling might be high and maybe our potential is sky high too but the product on the field is not. Love the effort, especially on defense, but the offense is simply not good. We had all summer to prepare for that moment and could only get 31 yards on the ground. LSU had 25 on the first play. The fans showed up and showed out. The Valley was rocking and looking for a reason to explode and the offense was afraid of the noise. Our fans deserve a better outcome than that. They have certainly paid a lot of $$ to get it.

Clemson wants to be elite yet they have gone 3-7 in the last 10 games against the SEC. 1-2 against South Carolina in our last 3 games. We have lost 4/5 openers and in the last 3 have only managed to score 19 points total. Maybe you look back and say good things about LSU at the end of the year but this is our Death Valley and we should not lose at home.

Clemson is 17-52 on fourth down against the last 4 SEC opponents. 26% is not good enough in any league. We are paying 6-8 million for our coaching staff
3-5 million for our offensive players
multi-million dollars for facilities and training equipment

Coach Reilly is on the hot seat and should be. He had all summer to plan for this one game and only ran the ball for 31 yards. All in we have a 20 million dollar offense and it is simply not good.
There were missed throws, missed catches, and missed blocks but 3 years in a row we have opened with a loss and our offense has looked inept. The investment is not being met with a quality ROI and people will find something else to invest in if they dont get a good return. That is one of the dangers of college sports becoming more like a business. Players that make millions are expected to play like it, and coaches are expected to earn it.

We have 80% of our offense back - where were they on Saturday night in one of the best atmosphere you could ever hope to play in? Our QB is one of the most experienced in the country and he needs to play like it. I am sure he knows that but our OC is supposed to be one of, if not, the best in the country and he too needs to show it. It all starts with him and he is not living up to the hype. When people demand a high price there is much expected of it. When fans, like me, invest in the program and drive 17 hours round-trip to see that game we expect more. Its not about the loss but it is about the effort, preparation, and execution and it simply was not there and Coach Reilly is responsible for it.

GO Tigers!!

14 points in 8 quarters against the yard buzzards. 99-10 against uga in 8 quarters. Riley aint no D1 OC. Guy ought to be coaching middle school.

Three years is certianly not a sample size of ONE. This offense has not been good against quality opponents in several years. There was a time when we got the ball and had 2-3 minutes to make it happen and we did. Play calling is only part of the problem but it is certainly not one game. We are not able to beat the better programs - just ask LSU, GA, Texas, and South Carolina. Losses to Duke, Louisville and others that were not close. We cant drive the ball and we to struggle adjusting "in game" top what the defense is giving us and when we do the players dont execute. Jsut look at our last offensive play on saturday night.
