It would have been legal and maybe a TD. On film he does all year. This kick he stays up and sees it. Still liked the call.

He called for a fair catch. Absolutely the right call. I do question why we would try it. We had the D to stop them by playing field position. Didn't need to get cute and give them a short field.

For the exact reason you said: we had the D to stop them. I'm OK with the play call in that case. Not sure I agree with the flag, but I didn't see a fair-catch call from where I was sitting.
