Stark Raving Dabo Episode 3: Collapse Against the Coots

Dec 31, 2024, 3:56 PM

The message from the subject line listed above was deleted. This time, I only agreed with about 80% of what was mentioned in that deleted message. It is my opinion that a lot of what was blamed on Dabo, should have been directed towards coordinators and players. Dabo did not shank kicks, miss blocks, tip toe through holes and pull up early on runs. Nor did he continuously get caught up in the wash and not set the edge. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Dabo did not call conservative plays on offense or have the defense looking completely lost many times during games without the ability to make crucial in game adjustments on either side of the ball.

Didn't you post some similar threads last winter about basketball?

They will get they're share of the blame, but, Dabo is the HC with making him totally InCharge of everything that happens with the team. As the BossMan, he sees what goes on in practice and how the team plays as a team in the games. IMHO, he should have taken the Tigers by the tail and not letting go immediately after our first ACC loss against Louisville. Not only grabbing the Tiger by the tail after the Louisville loss.

As our HC I'm also absolutely sure that if plenty of Tiger fans noticed the decline in our defense especially in Goodwin's second season, Dabo had to of noticed it also and I'm sure that he did. Dabo should have grabbed the Goodwin Tiger by something and informed him that with the talent that he had on the defense that he expected to see improvement and not the decline that He, the coaches, the fan base, and the offensive coaches that we play against was seeing the decline also.

Also, if the defense didn't show improvement by the end of the 2023 season that Goodwin would be looking for employment with another program or employment in another field bc he wasn't showing to have enough experience to be coaching at a D-1 power 5 FB program. Maybe even apologize to Goodwin for mistakenly believing that he had what it takes to become a successful DC at the power 5 level and offer to buy out his contract unless he would rather give it another try for one more season that must show improvement or that would be the end of the line for him at Clemson. That is probably what I would do if I was his boss, just saying!!!
