Florida State vs Clemson Prediction
This one has all the earmarks of a classic, high-scoring affair. Add to that the luster of a national television audience, a night game in the crisp November air, and possible ACC division title implications, and this is THE game for Clemson fans to be at. Full Story » |

Coaching advantage: Clemson? Seriously? Holy Homerism!

Other than Clemson fans, is there one person in the country who would say that Clemson has a coaching advantage over FSU? C'mon. I like Dabo's spirit and leadership. Napier recently got his act together. And Steele is about as good as they get. But c'mon...
The second all-time winningest head coach in college football hisory (a guy with multiple national titles and ACC titles) versus a 1st-time head coach who's 8-6?
An offensive coordinator named Jimbo Fischer, who is so good that in order to keep him from being stolen, one of the nation's legendary college football programs named him head-coach-in-waiting (with a $5M bonus if he doesn't become head coach by next year) versus a 1st-time OC, Billy Napier, who just started doing a good job of game-planning and play calling 3 games ago?
A defensive coordinator named Mickey Andrews who is widely respected as a DC legend, versus Kevin Steele? OK that one is actually close, and I might even take Steele.
But c'mon.

It is definitely homerism. We lost to Maryland and G-Tech, and TCU because of coaching. Bowden has forgotten more than Dabo knows. But I would still take Dabo because he is on the rise!

It's not about the past. It's about who has the most effective coaching staff THIS SATURDAY. FSU looked dazed and confused on both sides of the ball against NC State. That's a coaching staff issue.

but life nor sports is about past accomplishments. It's about the here and now. And right now, I too believe we'll have the coaching edge on Saturday.

game we choke. Example, Alabama, BC in 07'. I've just got a bad feeling about this game. Kyle Parker MUST have a good game to win b/c we will get the best out of FSU today.

If Clemson backs off even a little, we lose. BB may just have a chip on his shoulder due to the firing of his boy. I would love to see a blowout to help me live a longer life, but alas, I predict a nail biter.
