Spent the night scouting Texas. 10 observations.

1. The team that did well against Texas, UGA, had a good running game. ETN gashed Texas up the middle and as a receiver in the first game.

2. Texas has good RBs; I know that many here said that they don't have a running game, but they do. I am sure it's better than the Citadel. The good news is that they fumble.

3. Ewers is a statue and will fumble if you get to him. Here is the thing, though: Texas has a good OL and an LT who will probably be a first-rounder.

4. I think we have a chance on a kick return.

5. Cade will absolutely need to move the pocket and look downfield, scramble. I think the whole key to the game lies with him.

6. Golden and their TE are monsters; we need a super game from our safeties and CBs.

7. Again, many teams stayed in their games by winning the TO margin. If we don't, I think we lose.

8. Expect to see Manning; he can run. Their coaches aren't idiots. They can see we struggle against mobile QBs. Clemson needs to be prepared.

9. Mukaba is a missle and a great tackler but can be fooled. Need to take advantage of that.

10. Our WRs must have a big game.

Their Left Tackle was injured. Not sure if he'll be back for our game.

Great news for us. He's a good player on a great OL.***

Definitely think Cade needs to run the ball especially when it looks like a sure pass play.

Good points. Especially on Cade

The RPO game has always been somewhat of his bright spot when he played really well. I think it'll be crucial through the CFP. His legs are a threat, and he CAN move the pocket. I just hope he doesn't try to move it too early. His happy feet killed us last year at times. He's been pretty solid in that regard this year.

Hope he runs absolutely Roughshod Saturday, and scares the pi$$ outta ASU. If we progress, your point of the RB gets really real! Skattebo is playing like Boulware at RB. Dabo and coaches better Dabo the helloutta these games!

Vandy lost the turnover margin and only lost by 3 to them. Neither team put up great stats then though.

That was right after the Georgia game and when Vandy was coming off the Bama win. I deff think Texas is better then they were that game but I really don't believe that are the 3rd best team in the country like their ranking suggest.

Looks like most of their close games they either won the turnover margin or tied it so idk where u get that teams stayed close because of the turnover margin?

A&M got stopped on 4th down and then threw a int on their first 2 drives. The turnovers are what kept Texas in the game not the other way around.

You forgot to mention that Ewers throws a flat ball that gets blocked a lot...we have good hands folks that can block em and run back for 6!

How many games did you watch?

Dec 16, 2024, 9:35 AM

Did you watch complete games, skim them, etc…

Just curious.

1. Agree that's how UGA approached the game, Vandy ran their qb alot, so to your point Cade could present issues there in lieu of traditional running back.

2. Agree the have talented rbs, disagree that they are a good rushing team. The citadel is not a good comp bc they run a unique offense, I'd say Texas runs the ball more like Louisville or UGA stylistically just not as well.

3. Agree on Ewers, disagree on their OL, they struggle with speed imo, can see TJ Parker forcing them to keep a rb or chip with a TE to block him.

4.Not sure kinda a random thing.

5. Probably true but hoping you aren't setting this up to say he's awful post game if Clemson loses.

6. Agree, I trust Mickens Barnes and Griffin are shaky at times.

7. This is most football games so Agree.

8. Agree Texas will put him in if Ewers is getting hammered and not moving the ball, however Manning is fast straight line don't see alot of wiggle from him or think he's a tank like Sellers (remember Sellers had to break tackles to avoid being sacked however many times he was hit in the backfield).

9. That was his issue at Clemson, gets caught free lancing a bit too much, but Texas builds a lil more of that flexibility into their scheme.

10. Agree
