South Carolina Presidential Preference Poll
May 28, 2023, 10:53 AM
|
|
A right-wing organization named American Greatness commissioned this, take that for what it's worth. But this is the first poll of South Carolina voters since DeSantis entered the race officially.
Trump: 43% DeSantis: 18% Scott: 12% Haley: 10% (I have no opinion on the meaning of the above two - just think it is interesting that Scott leads Haley by a couple of points.) Ramaswamy, Hutchinson, Pence, and Sununu all poll at 1% (I suspect those are the folks whose numbers are hurt by the native son and daughter in S.C. running) 13%: undecided.

Yeah I’m kind of enjoying this new climate change. May has been awesome in SC.

I thought she was playing it smart when she did that, but who knows what the base thinks? No idea.

It was making a good pro-business point. Nobody thought Disney was moving. Though, maybe the 2,000 jobs will move somewhere else.?.

If Disney thinks that Florida's regressive social politics will made it difficult to attract and keep good employees, it is a good business decision.

Of course it isn't related and they've said this decision was made last fall, before this showdown wirh Desantis was even a thing, due to a changing economic environment and no desire of their California workers to move to Florida. News flash, they wouldn't have wanted to move across country to NY or anywhere else either, not because the left thinks Florida is the US equivalent of a Soviet gulag, no matter how much the anti Desantis crowd wants it to be so.

yeah, but they have 15 billion earmarked for growth, that is enough to start a campus in SC, as well as another park. But that will never happen now that you have a 6-week abortion ban, which unfortunately for SC, will play a key role in whether or not it is still able to attract big business into the state.

Nationally, the parent movement is overwhelmingly on DeSantis’ side, even more so than I realized at first. These groups have dominated elections. Disney would be smart to do like A-B and either change direction or just let this quietly go away.
How you figure that? The abortion position is chasing off voters. You can't believe Tnet voters are representative of most of the country! Most people see book-banning and trans-hysteria as manufactured outrage.

actually no T3, large corporations do not want their women pregnant, they want them in the workforce, and knowing that abortion access polls favorably nationwide, they would not even consider it, the internal blowback would be far too much at a large corporation if they were to consider moving employees to SC.

DeSantis isn't making big strides with independents in the polls, especially women (he and other Pubs can't seem to get it with abortion). He, of course, is going to land the Pub voters if he's the nominee, but I think the independent stuff is still up in the air.

And they just announced 17 billion in additional Disney World investments over the next ten years. They arent going anywhere, especially to a location with lousy weather six months out of the year, despite the joy it would bring the anti Desantis crowd.

Camden has been her suggestion for these things. Lots of land near interstates.

Given Columbia and Charlotte's somewhat proximity.
All for it... that's a #### ton of money and jobs coming into the state.

Mainly because they're going to win the DeSantis battle. And all of his BS will get overturned with the next person.

Orangeburg Disney World North has a nice ring to it. That and South of the Border gives a real vacation destination.
