season, up to this point, almost always go back to the poor play of the OL! Eric MacLain spent an entire video lamenting their lack of execution and lack of effort! The Top-Brass for the OL is Matt Luke and there seems to be a regression in their play, maybe that's where a kick in the pants needs to come?!?!?

maybe not.

Allow me to submit the following for consideration;
1) Luke has been thought to be an o-line wizard and has a history of being quite good at it
2) O-line takes a while to season/develop so instant results might not be a reasonable expectation
3) We're not sure what the overall scheme is they're being asked to run

Now for #3 I agree that there were some plays Eric broke down that were just comical... but the point there is that if you ask a fish to climb a tree, he's going to be really really bad at it. Are we playing to our player's/group's strength? And that might be out of Luke's hands.

Our o-lines have never really been a 'strength', even when we were winning a ton. It was more like... serviceable... and the talent on the outside did the rest. So expecting a new guy to come in here and make chicken salad? I mean, the o-line is BAD no doubt.

But are any other groups living up to their expectations that you see? This year is a failure at a system level. Not a one coach/position thing.

There is no excuse for the lack of effort, missed assignments and physically getting your #### whipped repeatedly! No matter how good the coach if the players have no fight in them then they are going to get whipped all the time! There are no "dawgs" on the line and Jacobs is just learning, but the talent is there!

Years ago I had a OLineman that was 6'6" and weighed roughly 285lbs. Looked like a future NFL guy, but he was as soft as Charmin, I had another that was 5'11" and 210 that would take on the world and was all state. I remember he told the big guy and I quote, "If I was as big as you, I would be the offensive line and we wouldn't need nobody else!"
