Narrative about this not being DJs fault for the loss etc. is that top recruit players are there to WIN and take actions that change the flow and momentum of the game, not just do "ok" and not lose. DJ on a good day is "ok" and provides no transformational leadership. After watching 20+ games of this guy, call it what you will mojo or whatever, his play and presence visibly are a detractor to all the players around him. It appears as if he brings this black raincloud that degrades the rest of the team around him.

I've thought the same thing.
Barring the Wake game, which after two years of data seems like the aberration, even when we get 'Good DJ' our offense at best looks.... functional? It's not hot or cold rather it's lukewarm or cold.
That's not what you expect out of a consensus 5* and #1 overall recruit.

I agree and why there’s a “spark” when Cade comes in. The dark clouds part.

We can run…but we cannot pass or catch. Half the time, and Saturday was atrocious, DJ throws the ball where nobody is. Could be wrong routes…but when he does throw it to somebody they drop it. Spector - 2 targets, 2 drops.

I think these next two games will be interesting. I do not think with the playoffs off the table DJ will have a long leash. I also don't think Cade is where he needs to be yet as far as what he can eventually bring to the offense. Even so, he brings something different. I just think Cade is a freshman, and not a freak, like DW or TL. He'll get there.
DJ has shown he can't get there, at least in our offense.

If recruits read fan sites, and I sure hope they don't, we are really in trouble. I get we don't like South Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State or any other team that beats us but to lose site of the fact that other schools attract good coaches and good good coaches just like we do is just folly. We are going to have losses in the future and all that means is other teams beat give 85 scholarships just like we do and their 85 beat our 85 that day.
