I think it is more about location than money. We have the money but I think Littlejohn is in the perfect place in relations to our football and basketball facilities. I love the idea of the new football operations building being moved across the road. It will give the other sports more access to the west endzone facilitates and keep us on track with the other major programs in college football.

except for the part that is underground already that makes a perfect seating bowl. Thats essentially what they DRad did with GTs basketball stadium.

Littlejohn's location

Is still prime. Also, there is the added expense of what to do with Littlejohn if replaced. I doubt they would level it. They would reconfigure for another use, which also costs money. I hope the plans look pretty sweet.
Some of the WestZone could be retrofitted for fan use. The new training table for instance could become a stadium restaurant.

When they put the offices, locker rooms, and meeting rooms over there. All that money and now its time to build something else. Hopefully they find a new use for that stuff. Maybe we can tear Jervey down.

But it SOUNDS like a pretty big overhaul. If it is, I'm all for it. I like LJ, but it certainly needs a facelift (especially on the outside) and some more ameneties. What I don't want to be is the next Maryland: a trillion dollars in debt and cutting sports left and right. It's just not responsible.

Give Tommy Bowden some credit. He wanted the new football facilities next to Jervey. Terry Don choose to put them in the football stadium.

Similar to FSU

The big brick facade on Doak Campbell is the University Center. It houses many of the athletic and university offices for the school. It also serves as a club for FSU fans. Just a hunch, but I think Dan may be thinking this too. I'm sure revenue generation has to be incorporated with its new use.
I kind of like the idea of putting the football operations near the practice facility.

It is my understanding that there was a lot of oppostion to building a new facility and that is pretty much out of consideration now. New facility cost was estimated ato $100M to $120M. I hope the new renovation is extensive enough to make us competitive with our basketball facilities.
