I am giving back my diploma if that is the best that we can do. I can't believe that I wasted the best years of my life at this hicksville cow college. No wonder if am such a failure. LOL

Forbes Rankings Are Worthless

Their rankings are pretty much worthless. 27.5% of the ranking is determined by Student Satisfaction? Ha ha!

Probably because we didn't pay them enough $$$. I guess we should operate like the SEC.

This shows the sheer folly of running your school to obtain a high magazine ranking. Who is to say the Forbes ranking is any more or less accurate than USNWR?

Some interesting info on the Univ of West Florida...

The University of West Florida (UWF) is a state school about 10 miles from downtown Pensacola. The university also has several coastal locations, including the Fort Walton Beach Campus. Students have a variety of options for outdoor recreation, as the school’s main campus encompasses a wilderness preserve, and the university also owns beachfront property in Pensacola. The student body is nearly 60 percent female, and incoming students can begin to get a feel for one another and the school through ArgoConnect, UWF’s own social network. Once on campus, there are more than 150 UWF student clubs and organizations to check out, including fraternities and sororities. The University of West Florida Argonauts—also known as the Fighting Snails—compete in the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference.

Had a friend look into going there. Wanted to do sailing. Unfortunately, he's an idiot and was dreaming. Ended up at a CC and works in security now.

i live 17 miles from williams.believe me,it's no great shakes, although they do usually field a decent div.3 football team.after all isn't that really the measure of a great college or university?

Forbes is full of manure

Look at the Top 20.... mostly Northeast "twit" schools ... heavy bias here since Forbes is staffed primarily by "girly men".

Looking at their criteria this kind of makes sense

When almost a third of the rankings is based on "post graduate success" as defined as alumni pay and prominence, then Clemson isn't going to be very high. As an agricultural school with a strong engineering program, even the most successful alumni in their fields aren't going to be billionaires. Simultaneously, prominent business schools are going to have alumni instantly coming out making more money, fact of life.
I'm not saying I agree with the rank as an indicator of Clemson's value just saying I see how it happened.

With no law school, no medical school, no veterinary school (which is absurd considering Clemson's agricultural history) the post grad starting salary rate is no surprise. However, with the technology majors rapidly catching up to the traditional "professional" salaries, it won't be long until Clemson moves up even in the strangely weighted Forbes rating.
