Our team and our coach and our fans are having a tuff go --> as do all teams.
Being tested makes us all better.

In the year of the 1981 national championship, almost the whole team returned from that 1980 6-5 team. Very similar to this year with so many returnees. The difference was that championship team was talented and played their a$$ off for Coach Ford.

But to your message Tug, hopefully Coach has it in him to turn the ship in 2026.

Somehow, 2026 CU coaches and players have to not expose themselves, at all, to all the pre-season talking-head hype and idiotic polls! Tigers were struck down in August by all the rat poison (Saban)!

freshman year in 1975 and 3-6-2 the next. We lost to Tulane in my first ever bigtime college football game. I had no idea what it was all about, all I'd ever done was go to a couple of Furman games. I went to Bama the next week and we got drilled 56-0. Then I sat in the rain when UGA pounded us. Were you there? I kinda doubt it.

Don't be lecturing folks like me. We've been there, done that, and have the T-shirt.

Some of the best, and most knowledgeable fans may not get to many games as unlike me they don't live close.

Clemson fan win or lose... and I was 6 in 1981.....I was around for those 1994-2006 years, not much fun to be had in that time but still a Tiger fan through and through. The fun is in the winning....CDS, Deshaun, Christian, Dexter, Grady, Ben, Sammy, Nuk, Gallman, ETN, Trevor, Tee, and others brought a passion to the game that was contagious. I do not see that from anyone in 2025, not a single guy. CDS has stated the fun is in the winning, well right now there is no fun....none. That needs to change, and it starts with coaching and execution of a game-plan....that game-plan has been missing, or the execution of that game-plan has been failing on a regular basis.

What makes this year tough is some realities setting in...game is changing, CDS is resistant to this new era of college football. Stubborn and doing it his way is one thing, but when it is in the face of those who would like to see Clemson continue being a good football team it hurts.

2025, is not a good football team. Why?? What changed ?? What happened that this team of pretty decent experience, has taken a step back ??

CDS has a lot to figure out. I have no idea, none at all. Something is not right in Clemson, nobody is having fun. Beating FSU Saturday can bring some healing on this team, bring some smiles, and maybe get this back on tract at least for the remainder of 2025 with momentum into 2026. Who knows!

Thanks Tugaloo for posting about this. Haven't been around as long as you or Dark Side but like I told a fellow alum earlier today I'm a keep Coach Swinney guy because he is the right person for this university. He sees that changes that need to be made and at the end of the season I think we will see them. As for the moaning and wanting changes now they won't stop because they juat like being angry. This season sucks but let's finish this out and coach will get back to work getting us right.

I wish more fans would have a better attitude and more confidence in Clemson Football. I also grew up during the 60’s 70’s 80’s 90’s, a d through the seasons from 2000 to 2025. I still believe times are ahead with CDS 🐅🐅.

I remember before the success CDS brought to Clemson fans would have been happy with a 10 win season every 2 or 3 years , and some ACC Titles with upper tier BG’s.

So many new fans jumped on the Bandwagon it we had to buy a bigger one. Now when Dabo needs that support now more than every fans are jumping off the wagon !!! Hope fans will at least read my post. It might be corny but it makes a point.

Because I hope Clemson Fans will spend time thinking about their job, and put themselves in Dabo’s position. How would you respond being under the radar every day ???

In this case my employee listed below is a Sales Manager. Who has had a hot product for several years. But in 2025 the product has been bad this year.

What would it be like if in this case fellow employees and bosses ( aka fans ) turned on you because you were having a bad year. After all the hype your product ( team ) underperforms and needs upgrading ( recruiting / TP).

Your employees, customers and bosses ( fans) started posting negative feedback on Social Media, Talks Shows, and other sources ( aka ESPN, fans posting on SM, calling into Public Radio ) talking about how bad you are, you sucks and your product sucks. Your are Constantly talked about. Some are saying how your business has passed you by. A few years earlier your company started paying bonuses to your department (players / NIL). Now those who are already tearing you down, now they are angry because of the bonuses ( NIL ) being paid to under performing people. They claim it’s all due to you.

Now prior to the beginning of your big selling season you are projected to sale a Great product. Instead you have issues with the product. Now those who bought your product because of past success (Dabo and Team) no longer have confidence in you or your product.

After 3 months of selling, you the Sales Manager are being criticized everyday because of 1 bad year with a product that needs adjustments. do you expect the people you need to improve the product (Recruits or TP) to buy into your brand the next year. In order for them to believe it’s important for customers, employees and bosses ( Fans) to believe, have faith and confidence in the future based off of the success from the past.

How much will a lot Negative Energy have on the future success of your company. Does so much negative energy impact your ability as Sales Manager to retool your product for future success. Do you feel after years of success customers should give you the opportunity to make changes in order to make you product better ( Recruiting ) how important is it for your customers to believe in you ( CDS and Staff ) and the makers of you product ( recruits , players and fans) trust that you with support can deliver a great product for the next season ???

Some may see this is a cornball comparison between the Sales Manager’s situation and Coach Swinney’s situation but they are basically the same. It all comes down to Support, Confidence, and Patience in a leader who has proven themselves many times. We must have confidence in the ability for him to make improvements with in his company to improve performance of the product.

Believe and Support that Clemson is Still the Standard. Fans create that Energy that really does make Clemson Special. That Energy and Special Culture that encourages recruits and TP players to have an overwhelming desire to play for Clemson because Clemson is special.

It want happen without a Team Effort aka Fans, Coaches, Current Players, commitments all must Believe “ Best is the Standard “ at Clemson and have confidence in the Head Coach that has been there before.🐅🐅🐅

Let’s try to encourage recruits that playing for Clemson is a Once in a Lifetime Opportunity.

Or we can continue down the current path together with negative comments and lack of confidence in Dabo until we all run Clemson into the ground.

I say “All In” Learn from this season and get ready for a brighter future 🐅🐅🐅 Go Tigers !

us to the top more than once. And his story is amazing, from walk-on at Bama to nat'l title coach at lil ol Clemson. Nobody saw that coming. I remember an email I got from a UofSC buddy in 2016: "You guys lucked up and hit the lottery with Dabo." That's how we all felt.

The first time I had a little concern was when he said he'd quit coaching if the players were paid. OK, not that big of a deal. But I did think that was odd, considering what we were paying him. And the kids who made it possible for him to be uber-wealthy should get nothing but a scholly.

All right, fine. But as the years went by, I didn't appreciate his attitude of I'll Just Take My Ball And Go Home. Lashing out at fans and getting defensive. Not a good look. He could've easily just kept his mouth shut and not suffer those self inflicted wounds.

Anyway, that's where I'm coming from. I hope he can turn the football program around. He definitely deserves that opportunity. But if he leaves, life goes on, and so does Clemson University. It was here 100 years before he was born and it'll be here 100 years after he's dead.
