soft no more

Jan 23, 2015, 10:03 AM

For a period there starting with Tommy Bowden and frankly some of Dabo's tenure I felt like we played a lot of teams that had an edge while we did not. Playing Auburn when they beat us with Cam Newton comes to mind. They seemed more physical and edgy towards the end of the game.

Man, I am not feeling that at all anymore. Not sure whether Venables is the difference or the quality of player but we really do seem like we are not only more skillful than the opposition but we want it more and seem to have a bit of an edge or collective confidence (Jarrett, Alexander, Beasley, Anthony all come to mind)that I think has been absent at times. I believe we are really moving in the right direction.

Go Tigers!

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Agree. I felt like we had a defense that didn't relax once we was up by 2 TD. I like a defense that will never let you breath even if up by 40. Never play that prevent D. Play the D that got you there.

Confidence and better tackling. I have to give that to Coach Venables. You can see it in the younger players too, such as Kearse, Wiggins, Boulware, etc. That's why I don't think you'll see a big drop-off in 2015. Hope he has the boys ready at the start of the season!

Clemson was at least as physical as Auburn in that game. Didn't Clemson knockout an Auburn player with a huge hit?

That game was the most physical game they played all year. We would have won that game if we hadn't missed the 2 TD's. After that game we kind of lost it.

When they took out Kyle Parker they got Agro and I felt like our confidence fell off. That was the turning point for me. It was a physical game.
