How lucky were we that Sindarius Thornwell was suspended

Jan 19, 2017, 8:10 AM

when we played a pretty good South Carolina team? We squeaked by without their best player. Can you imagine how we would look without Jaron Blossomgame?

maybe then some other players with talent would step up

Jan 19, 2017, 9:00 AM

and play like it's on them to actually win the game.

If this team never takes another jump shot and crashes the D boards every play

they'll make it to the NCAA's.

I don't get the feeling they are being coached to

Jan 19, 2017, 9:21 AM

avoid quick perimeter shots and rebound. Everybody wants to play on the perimeter and shoot threes. Holmes, Devoe and Grantham have the green light to shoot when they feel like it. Don't think we'd see those quick shots so consistently from game to game if they were being coached otherwise. And Our big men have consistently committed dumb fouls - regardless of who that player is.

Who would you see stepping up in Blossomgame's absence? I don't see anybody with anywhere near the talent of Blossomgame on our roster.

Agreed. Another big problem is JB's 3pt game has tanked which is surprising since he shot a very good percentage last season, I think over 45%. Unfortunately, I haven't seen anyone on this team other than possibly Reed who can hit a three with the game on the line at the end.

Devoe definitely has the green light

Jan 19, 2017, 3:15 PM [ in reply to I don't get the feeling they are being coached to ]

and it appeared the plays at/near the end of the ND and UVA games were for him

he needs to nail one when it really counts.. maybe give him some more confidence?

Re: Devoe definitely has the green light

Reed is shooting 45% from the 3pt line, Devoe is at 38%. Wrong person has the green light IMO. Also Devoe shoots too many from NBA range. Reed has the highest FG percentage of any of the guards which surprisingly is less than his 3pt percentage.
