I have done that and when she was young I would kid about her High School being closed down. One day in her 90's she ribbed me about my High School being made a Jr High.

Now you have me reminiscing about my grandfather, Mick. He was born in February 1898 near present day Salem, SC, and left us behind in 1986. He first saw an automobile as a teenager, purchased his first electrical appliance in the mid 1950's, and his first window air conditioner around 1971.
He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, those around him always listened.
What a blessing to spend summers with Mick as a child. He was a lifetime horseman, and took me to horse auctions, rodeos, and horse breaking parties. In the 1970's, he was talking about how the world he was raised in had been left behind.
2k, I wonder what he would think of today's world. In fact, I look at your priceless photo, and can't help wonder what your Mom thinks of it all.

one at a time. My Uncle and Mom attended many games together, but my Dad (an IPTAY Member for over 50yrs) would rather stay home and listen on the radio and of course TV when he could. My Uncle took me to my 1st Tiger game when I was 12....1959 Bluebonnet Bowl where we beat TCU. Memories!!

What a blessing! Congratulations to you and your beautiful mother! I’m getting to be a man of a certain age and I understand the feeling. Every year with them is a blessing. I’m sitting here excited like it’s Christmas (as a boy might be) because my parents are making the four hour journey to spend the weekend with me. The last time I saw them I was in a hospital bed for four days wondering if my parents might end up burying me instead of me burying them. Treasure every moment!!!
