So what the heck were people doing back then to have so many buildings go up on flames? I know there weren't any sprinkler systems, but the original Tillman Hall burned and now I learn Mechanics Hall suffered the same fate. These had to have been tremendous financial losses for the college. Was it due to mishandling of oil and/or gas lighting or something like that?

Beautiful pic... the first Clemson "College of Architecture", and in my not quite so humble opinion, the most beautiful building still standing on campus.

I have no idea how to do so...
I purchased something once that had about 25 photos from campus in 1925-1926 ...several before and after fire photos of buildings. Have them framed now.
