Anyone else not happy w their new parking assignment?

After 25 years in the same spot, over 500 priority points, $+100,000 of givings… still giving $6,500 annually… i have been kicked out of my parking spot in Lot-2.
Lot-2 is now for the corporate privileged. As a new contributor you can give $12k and get two parking passes in Lot-2. Whereas a lifetime contributor no longer qualifies for one spot.
IPTAY has lost its beginnings, IPayTenAYear, as it now only care for the highest corporate sponsors… the small and not so small are being pushed away.
Part of me gets it they need money for NIL, but its very disheartening after so many years of support… particularly when things were bad. Maybe its time to stay home and support via TV and let the young privileged get drunk at the games.
Never would i have thought they would abandon their family roots part of what made Clemson special. An example of whwre we are will be the LSU drunk fest.. that i will not be bringing my grandchildren to.
Its my time to go…

I am not one today I told you say, but when NIL first was discussed and the courts, judges and legislators got involved, I felt that chaos was on its way. Where will it stop. How many non revenue generated sports will be discontinued. ???
Well the NIL bottle has been opened. The question is how do you control it ??? Some kids have already started receiving pay for play I believe all He$$ is going to break loose. I feel really bad for all of those affected by NIL and Revenue Sharing. Those who have supported schools for decades donating large sums of $$$$$$$ only to have earned privileges bought out from under them. Just like the poster losing his tailgating spot in lot 2 after many years of donations, supporting programs through good and bad times.
I started posting how I felt NIL if passed would be one of if not the worst thing to happen to amateur athletics. Several felt like I was over reacting. What do those people think now ???
Some people made comments that NIL for college athletes for their name, image and likeness, jersey sales etc.. would not have a negative effect on sports. I wonder how those people feel now ???
IMO college / pay for play Athletes who earn a certain amounts of money should have to pay for their own tuition and other college expenses that most students have to pay for. Instead several pay for play athletes are buying a $200,000 vehicle, living in elite housing and receiving other financial perks.
The more these athletes continue to be enabled earning large sums of money the more they will feel they deserve. Who is going to foot the bill to pay for all these perks. Most Non athletic students as part of their tuition, Alumni and fans and others.
I have empathy for those who have supported their school for many years only to see them lose what they have earned and enjoyed for years through donations. Where will the chaos stop ???
This was and is still my concern. As these enabled kids those parents jumping on the financial bandwagon are going to demand more and more.
I remember the fight to remove the confederate flag from the SC State House. It was removed. But it did not stop there. Those same people have continued to demand more changes. In fact they are trying to rewrite history !!!
The more I read about so many of you being drastically affected by all this BS chaos and greed the less interest I have in athletics.
I wish the best for those who are getting the shaft due to the chaos created by an incompetent NCAA, legislators , judges and the courts as well as greedy players and their parents !!! Unfortunately, we want know the future effects of NIL, Revenue Sharing, the TP and other financial chaotic changes that continue to affect what many long for “ Amateur College Athletics “
Every one have a great upcoming weekend 🐂🐂🐂

They will move more long time IPTAY folks either off campus or into the parking garage. Unless you have deep pockets then you are not guaranteed any decent parking assignment from one year to the next. To be fair, that is always the way it has been at least in the twenty years I had season tickets but it gets worse each year with more premium spaces being lost to new construction and other reasons.

Deep pockets years ago bought a lot more than those same deep pockets buy today. After you add the additional cost added in to fund NIL and Revenue Sharing for those poor athletes who are not satisfied with a free education along with other perks. Today’s IPTAY fees are IMO comparing apples to oranges.
In 1981 I went to the NC game in Miami. I was able to fly on a charter flight, stay on South Beach, go out to 2 really nice restaurants. I spent less than $200.
Some much has changed in today’s financial markets that longtime donors to IPTAY can bought by 1 large donation. At least that’s how I understand it.
A couple of times I was able to get great seats at face value, participate with them at their tailgate party hanging out with several people from other parties who knew each other.
Now it seems many of these groups could be separated. I am talking about families and friends that having been tailgating together for years. Now it seems like people have know idea where they will be able to park.
Another cost to factor in is necessary transportation from your parking spot to DV if you end up being a far distance from the stadium. There will most likely be a need for more drivers and more golf carts for those with bad backs, knee pain etc… who will need a ride to the stadium. Is the University going to pay for that or is that a new charge for the fans. ???
In 2016 my cuz went to the NC game. It was a group who went. They each spent approximately $8,000.00 for a 3 day trip.
I sympathize with those who were slammed with an in IPTAY fees, changes in parking, increases in ticket prices, and concession stand prices ( increase ??? ) For you thirsty fans they will be selling alcohol in DV.
Those attending their first game or those who attend games occasionally, due to cost or distance, may think they are in a disorganized 3 ring circus with all the confusion regarding parking changes and seating changes in DV.
My only advice is “ Don’t leave home without your American Express lol 😂 or a wad of cash.
Seriously, for those attending games I wish you a safe and enjoyable weekend.

We gave up 14 seats in South Lower and two Lot 5 spots, so that must have made a bunch of corporate donors happy. Have fun.

Or i decide to stay… drastically drop my IPTAY contribution to a minimum to meet just the seat equity requirement, bring my golf cart and drive to the games… until Clemson raises the seat equity plan… which they will to finally screw us.. then its yours. Hope you make lots of money!

After 25 years you know there will be just as many drunk Clemson fans as there are LSU fans. Every event sadly goes the way of the corporate money, just ask Masters patrons.

so where did you end up? seems like you had good credentials to stay put
Jul 24, 2025, 5:45 PM

looking at the #s, there are 3148 passes for sure in front of you(this assumes everyone that can get 2 premium passes get them which it would be silly not to). Then depending on points, there are up to 695 additional in front of you but imagine you are probably at least in the upper half of that group with 500+ points. So you should get roughly the 3500th available space. I would have thought Shaw would be pretty good odds but maybe some of the higher ups select Shaw over some of the other Tier 1/2 lots.
Is there anything that shows the # of spaces in each lot??

I have the numbers from 2024 that do not add up for Shaw which only lost 20 spots… i will post them after i finish my analysis… it does not add up!
There is more privileged being passed around than just the “allotment system”.
Being a retired attorney i have nothing better to do than file FOI and even discovery.
If i am being treated fairly within the system i will go away quietly, if i and others are being screwed, the you mistakenly stepped on the tail of an angry Tiger.

instead of 2024
Riggs 141 Heisman 1,062 Fike 742 McFadden 696
That's what I used to determine your pecking order. The Riggs and Heisman get 2 primary passes(doubt many if anyone there is foregoing that or ordering less that 4 tix)
Interested to see what you find out. Honestly most of the top 2 tier lots are small when you look at them. Also, to me, some of the lots in the upper tiers don't make sense but I guess they kind of developed that over most requested over time.
Which lot did they end up putting you in?

Due to construction, a lot of spots have been removed for this upcoming season (ex. over 1,000 in Lot C2 alone), so there’s been a lot of reshuffling. I’m sure after some of the major construction dies down things will get back to somewhat normal (until they begin another project, which is bound to happen soon).

Sorry for the Shaft that you received. This what frustrates me. It’s fans / alumni like you that are getting the shaft after so many years of support during the leaner times.
Wish you the best. Best of luck going forward.
I honestly did not think NIL would have such an effect of fans this fast. I figured cost would affect fans but had no idea that chaos would affect longtime fans such as yourself TigerLinks this year. I thought you would have at least one more normal season without all the chaos.

I'm not so much complaining for myself, as I walk about three or four miles every morning (age 78) and stay in good shape, but there are a lot of long time members, who may not have the financial means to up their donations that just can't walk that far. But increasing your donation is no guarantee that you will get better parking. I did $50,000 worth of work for the Clemson a number of years ago and got credit for a $25,000 donation to IPTAY and $25,000 for the general university fund, and that year I also doubled my IPTAY donation and requested better seats. I got the same seats that I had always gotten, so after that I just started donating enough to cover the "seat tax" for that location.
Honestly, the $50,000 in kind donation only got me a lot of invitations to events for the opportunity to give more money!

A few years ago IPTAY switched from a fund raising club to help fund Clemson athletics, to a money grubbing organization that uses threats and extortion to shake down its members. We went through the same problems as mentioned here a few years ago and kept getting moved farther and farther out every year even though we were at the $10k/year level. We finally just had enough and dropped it down to the minimum level and gave up our seats. Enough already. It is like dealing with the mafia and they hold all the cards. We give up. You can have it.

the top tier they are slotted for. I do think things will improve in a year or 2. Too many core campus construction projects at one time. Parking garage will bring back more spaces in the c1 area than existed before. Not sure if the Williamson/Shoebox/Earle Hall area is fully back online fo this year. Huge grass area will eventually exist near the p-plant - that should add a lot of spaces.

You did not know what you were going to get regardless of how many levels you went up. You "hoped" you were going to get what you wanted. IPTAY does not make any guarantees. The even tried to back track on some of the old guarantees that they made in writing to Lifetime Members and reduce the promised benefits. That's IPTAY for you!

Here us the switch and bate by IPTAY! When they sent out the solicitation for 2025 donations they did not post the 2025 Tier parking chart so the only information available was the 2024 Tier parking chart. In 2025 Lot 2 became Tier 3 vs in 2024 it was Tier 4 giving.
We paid our commitment well before they released the 2025 which was in June.
I have dates and screen shots of the releases.
That is not right and I doubt Clemson top leadership even knows it. Its also not legal!
