UGA is a lot like Clemson

Both expected to make the playoff last season, neither did. At least Clemson made the playoffs for a couple years after our last National Championship. I can’t imagine going from winning it all one year to not even making the playoffs the next. Only twice can I remember that even happening, LSU in 2020 and UGA in 2023, both SEC schools. I haven’t looked at the rosters closely, but I would guess both used transfers more than Clemson. I hate to admit it, but it appears building teams using transfers just doesn’t pay long term dividends. And with the exception of Alabama, who does things the right way, like Clemson, SEC teams have trouble maintaining long term success.

I think there are some differences, Francis....here's a clue as to one of them.

If you're not a slender w/r or db those horizontal stripes are going to be most unflattering.

The problem with you guys is you fail to define words like success or good. In the last 10 years, Georgia had a 114-22 record including 13-1 last year. I think in any reasonable person's world, that would qualify as successful. Our record during the last 10 years is 119-20 so you are correct UGA is very similar as far as records go. As far as not making the Playoffs last year, Georgia was 13-1 so a reasonable person would also consider that a successful defense.

So weve actually won more games and lost fewer?

I guess UGA is not as much like Clemson as I thought. Hopefully they can improve, but they are currently trending down, per the college football playoff committee, and they’re the ones who define success/good.

FSU 2013 won the last BCS championship then missed the entire 10 year duration of the 4 team playoffs. Turrable.

I am having convulsions as I attempt to type these words…
This is probably the best post you have ever shared on TNet.
In fact, it is the only good post you have ever shared on TNet.
