No one has depth. That’s how it is in 2024. Our starting talent is as good as about anyone in the country. All of our recruiting classes have been held up by the defensive recruits.

Goodwin needs to realize he's not getting any pressure with a 4 man rush and adjust accordingly.
If they can find a twitchy edge rusher this style defense is alot better.

I’ll give you that, but he’s also had personnel issues in the secondary 2 of his 3 seasons. So it’s really hard to tell just how aggressive he really intends to be because pressure requires a very good secondary.
Who would we replace him with?

Being the DC is different than being up in the box helping Brent. Our players would emulate BV competitiveness and energy.

The reality is the slow mesh is a challenge for us.
We used to have triple option woes with Venables and then he figured it out.
We also lack depth bc we can’t afford to pay guys like some of the other schools can. Not enough people helping us pay dudes

Haha no we didn’t have triple option woes. I think 2012 was BV first year and the only year he struggled against GT. This is Wes 3rd year.

Mike Reed has been phenomenal what are you talking about. An average year doesn't erase the fact Reed has produced a ton of NFL caliber corners. The lack of pressure is creating a domino effect too.

Agreed. Other than UGA he's been making good second half adjustments this year.
I'm not a bend but don't break guy but Goodwin has been solid as a DC, he needs some natural edge rushers though and when teams use 12 personnel he needs to get that figured out other than that he's been doing a good job.
