I usually go in saying I'm going to try something else, and then always get the elk
wish they still had the Emu on the menu

Couldn't find anybody to insure them with that on the menu.

I mean, the flight for everyone to Canada alone is going to be a big hit to the wallet.

Checking out the menu. Prices are very reasonable for that fare.***

The whitetail deer products suck, the elk is good, kangaroo loin also good, antelope loin also good. Buffalo Ribeye is where it’s at.

Similar story for daughter of and son in law yesterday...

I let my daughter keep a copy of my CC for emergencies since her college days.
When she moved to CA I told her to keep it and she uses if for her birthday and her husbands birthday.
Last night was her husbands birthday, and since I had forgotten about it, I told her to take him out to dinner and it'd be my treat. Easy peasy.
I got the text last night about 9:30...dad, this might get pricey. These kids are very frugal so I wasn't all that worried. Told them to enjoy themselves.
They did.

My youngest always likes to get the most expensive thing on the menu. If that is not good, what else would be? LOL.

Well, yes, but then again I just have slightly higher standards for what I put in my body. I used to be able to use supermarket “butter,” but once you’ve had Beurre de Barrate, hand churned from the cows of Monsieur Rodolphe Le Meunier in an inn outside of Azay-le-Rideau… let’s just say Land of Lakes doesn’t exactly do it for you anymore.
I also found this super cool young biodynamic artisan miller starting to get big in Lille where I get my 00 flour from.
Just trust me, if you need to make a roux for your cheese sauce for nachos during the Super Bowl coming up, once you’ve had a really good roux you’ll be glad to spend just $42 for it.

I'm also a big fan of that flour from Lille.

I feel like that accomplishment today is akin to saying "My son bought his first brand new Ferrari" 5 years ago.

Let’s see… carry the two…. Multiply by four….
Yeah, I’ll be about 162 years old when my kids have all graduated college and start doing adult life stuff, and still feeling pressured to churn out those RVUs.
