I don't think it was too complicated.... I think it became loaded with extraneous rubble that clogged the pipes.

Teams are better off spending time to learn 10 good plays extremely well so that they become second nature than trying to learn 100 plays without ever perfecting any.

Singlemindedness of purpose beats confusion every day.

True. Lombardi's Packers perfected the sweep and rode it to 5 NFL championships. Same with Shula's Dolphins. Tackle and block better than the other guys and you'll win 90% of the time.

and better technology for scouting and scheming against those simple plays. It's the same reason why the triple option eventually stopped working for Georgia Tech.

Blocking and execution is what matters in any offense. How much better our offense will be is in the hands of Coach Austin's group.

I’m so All In with Dabo and his staff that I feel very, very assured that they will do the best possible! But that is just me being me (a Clemson Man).

It seemed the Receivers had a hard time getting open. Not sure if it's a talent or a scheme problem. Good O coordinators get there athletes in space. Hopefully we will see a big difference this year.

It was extremely oversimplified last season...

Aug 3, 2022, 3:25 PM

Especially in the passing game. We need more pre-snap motion and misdirection. We also need to get WRs open in space quickly by running more quick slants, bang 8's, drag routes, and short climbs. Running simple out routes and fly routes hoping for a 50/50 balls or occasional back shoulder throws won't get it done. The more you simplify an offense, the easier you make it for opposing teams to out-scheme you.

Just scrap it and start over. Maybe put in a running play

the 2021 game vs GT in Death Valley was most likely the worst offensive performance in the Dabo era. That was a miserably bad GT team that almost beat Clemson at home. due to pitiful QB play that was exacerbated by zero protection at the line because GT had zero respect for the down field passing game. If opponents have no fear of the passing game beyond 10 yards of the line of scrimmage, you’ll see many articles on here about how predictable and or complicated the offense is. Players make good offensive coordinators

The offense only had 3 second half possessions in that game, with one being a 12 play touchdown and another 12 play possession ending in a fumble inside the 20. The defense could not get off the field in the 4th quarter, as GT ran 27 of the last 28 plays in the game.
