When you are so in search of validation that you claim an all-sports trophy based on mostly non-revenue and women's sports you might be a COOT......

By an organization of farmers?
Don’t they believe most taters are redneck farmers?
So should they really accept this award? It kinda feels like a sympathy trophy given by Clemson fans to keep Tanner and their Board of Trustees happy for another year and keep things status quo in men’s sports.

"With its win last night in men's tennis, USC clinched the 2017-18 Palmetto Series against Clemson. The Gamecocks also own wins in women's soccer, volleyball, women's golf, women's cross country, women's basketball, women's tennis and the food drive."
......uh, Congratulations??

This set-up does show where our athletics program is lacking some

We've had the coots' number in the big four in men's sports since this series started. Football has been head & shoulders above them since we snapped their win streak, the baseball programs have been trending in opposite directions since we hired Monte, men's soccer has been above them, men's b-ball last year was luck b/c they were short-handed, this year was no doubt we had better team on the court. Throw in men's golf (which has traditionally been stronger program for us) as well.
Past that, well, that kinda bothers me. Womens b-ball is gonna take alot it time & effort to close the gap. Womens soccer is actually been competitive so not particularly worried there, womens XC this is 1st time they've beat us since this points series started. But the rest of the sports, we've been lagging. Men's tennis ain't @ the level it used to be in the 80s & the recent successes in women's tennis seem like they're far away now given their recent struggles. Womens golf we ain't closed the gap yet in their young history, & 1 would assume that might be case when softball gets started up in a couple years. Plus the 1 thing I don't get on this point series of its completion between the 2, why don't we set up dual matches in track, XC, golf that's specifically Clemson vs SC to go toward this series (kind of like Army & Navy do w/ their sports).
Idk, guess it's just the fact I want us beating them across the board.

Are equally weighted, it was pretty dumb for us to agree to the food drive and gpa points. Given the size difference in student body then it’s kind of ridiculous to use that measure unless you converted to a lb/student ratio. Then there is the GPA which unless things have changed, UCS has always been on a plus system which inflates GPA. If they want to use something academic then they should probably stick to one of the measurements the NCAA has in place- APR/Grad Rates etc. Taking all the above into account, this thing lacks any meaning. If I were them this would perpetuate the embarrassment. Pretty sure we’ve been beating them in the 2 national sports awards lately even with their women’s programs/non rev given equal weight.

If they weren't such jerks during their little streak I would almost feel sorry for them. They really are in a pit of despair. When was the last time they were losing to us consistently in all 3 major sports and without much hope for improvement?
