So in the end, what does it all mean to you?

Is loyalty to a sports program or team determined by coaches, players, wins, loses, and good or bad tailgates? Is their something deeper that anchors you to that program? When I hear some opting out of the ACCCG or a bowl game, I see you as only loyal if all the conditions are right for you to support this program or team. ( Hell I have to work this Saturday and I hate to miss and would rather grease my throat and yell my voice into oblivion for the Tigers!) When it gets tough for our program or team then you are useless to the success of the program or team.
We are ALL disappointed! Losing sux and losing to your rival sux 20X more. Changes have to be made for Clemson to have the opportunity to be elite again ( top 3-5 programs). But to abandon YOUR team because of a player or coach is like a stab in the back from my prospective. I think In decades and not seasons. Seasons can disappoint but decades are more reliable to measure success and goals. And by God, we had a heck of a decade! Who knows what is next. I chose to think positively rather than negativity. You can sit in that gutter and always find ways to downgrade your program or team. I know in reality there have to be changes but some of you suggest them with little insight or knowledge of how that is done.
Stand up for your team if you love them! We may lose both the ACCCG and a bowl game with you cheering hard (,"may" is such a funny word) but #### if this should shear away your Clemson loyalty. ####, I hate losing to a bunch of little birds. Stay loyal! Go Tigers!!!!!!!!

You are correct. A lot of fans are conditional. The ACC title in 2011 was the best sports night of my life for a long time. No chance at a natty, beat down by WV in the Orange bowl. Didn't care. We won the conference and that's a very positive season. Still should be.

AThomas® You're a great fan! I have loved Clemson and pulled hard for our teams since 1979 freshman year.
I'm also a pragmatist who just retired, cares about staying in reasonable shape, spending time with and taking care of my family, saving and investing, and enjoying travel and hobbies when possible (not enough). Clemson Football is important, and love pulling for the soccer team and softball teams. Also pulling hard for men's and women's golf. But the pragmatic side of me cannot waste emotional energy pulling for this 2022 football team which has swallowed a poison pill and cannot compete versus quality teams. Losing to SC does suck, but it's far from the end of the world. The coaches have decided to tie our fortunes to a QB that cannot get the job done. While disappointing with predictable results, it's not my problem. IMHO it would be equally as foolish to scream myself hoarse pulling for this 2022 team as it would be betting on a Kentucky Derby horse with a 250 lb. jockey.
You're right about most and a 1st class fan. It's been a great decade. I'll be at the ACCCG with friends cheering for the team vs. UNC. And 2023 Football will be around the corner. And no such thing as a bad tailgate! Go Tigers!

Rght there with you SocMan. The tailgate with friends and family is what it’s all about for me. I have cherished every Saturday in Clemson this season. Yea, yesterday was disappointing but capping off Thanksgiving week with a Saturday in Clemson is still good. I’ve been with you since I was a freshman in 1980 and it is in our blood. My daughter was the Tiger Cub mascot from 2015-2017. We will also be there with friends cheering for the Tigers. Go Tigers!

In the end? I expect coaches to make good decisions not necessarily decisions that are in line with mine but if I disagreed with your decisions and I’m expected to support the team, then you better give me a good explanation as to why you’re making those decisions.

I was born in Clemson and expect to die within 5 miles of DV. I have seen the good, bad and ugly. I can handle winning and losing. I just hate BS We are being fed BS and I don’t like it.

I can remember as if it was yesterday watching the 1977 Gator Bowl when I was 11 years old. I rooted our Tigers on through the fat times of the eighties and the lean times of the nineties. I am not a Clemson grad but have been a Clemson fan from the moment I knew what a football was. I have my Clemson grad uncle to thank for that. I am harshly critical of DJ and Streeter but I will be rooting for the Tigers next Saturday as hard as I rooted for them yesterday, no matter who the QB and OC is. Go Tigers!
