Trying to understand Deshaun Watson's rankings discrepancies

Rivals – 12
ESPN – 13
247Sports – 96
Scout – 99

Two imply he's program changing and the other two he's just real good. How do you expalin these hugh discrepancies?

It's easy!!! If he were going to an SEC school he would be ranked #1. Because we are in the ACC they are all over the place with his ranking. I've also heard them say he's the #1 HS QB in the country, but he's not listed that. Things that make you go HMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

just know he's better than average in high school and we want better than average players at Clemson. But no one knows how good anyone is until they play in college. Didn't we have like the #1 QB in the nation back in the 80's CARR who turned out to suck in college. He threw a rocket pass but didn't have any gear but 90 MPH. And no one can catch a 90 mph fast ball from 10 feet away other than Nuke Hopkins with one hand.

I truly believe that if Taj Boyd had been QB for LSU he would have had 2 Heiseman trophies!!!! or had he played for Miss. State he would have been invited to NY. Just my opinion!!!! I just love the feeling I get, thinking D. Watson is going to be a Tiger!!!

one of the sites that has him in the 90s?

FWIW, i would put more stock in Rivals than Scout and 247. ESPN has also pumped a lot of money and resources into their scouting in recent years, so i think they are pretty good too.

he will develop to be one of the greatest at Clemson

The only weakness that I've read about him is how he handles the rush. He will have time to develop this at the next level but all of the assets for him to lead our tigers are there. I can not wait to see the competition next year in the spring time between him and the two QBs that we have today behind TB. We only hope that TB makes it in the top 3 this year in the draft if not the top player to be selected(national champs Clemson). Nice ring to it.
