Big time pulling for Lucas Glover today. One of my favorite golfers and seems more down to earth and blue-collar than so many other prima donnas on the PGA tour. So many of these guys are elitist arrogant jerks. Glover different and a solid down to earth good Clemson man. Yes, I am wearing my orange colored allegiance today!
On a side note, I think if I played in a PGA tour event, I would not embarrass myself and I might not finish last. The average golfer has NO IDEA how hard a PGA tour golf course is. The length alone would derail 99% of golfers - not to mention the deft and creativity required in the short game. So many people play on 6000 yard courses. Huge difference when you step it up to over 7000 yards.
If Glover can get off to a good start I like his experience and savvy!!

I see 1 regular season loss and a loss in the SEC Title game.
At some point luck runs out. Too many things can happen. Injuries. Luck. Georgia is very good, but not going to do it this year.

Truth re: Lucas. He is good as gold. Re: Tour golf........a wise old pro once said : "there are 2 games. Golf and Tournament Golf. The 2 are totally dissimilar."

golfer, who had PGA Tour aspirations. He quickly found out just how good those guys were, and settled down to being a Club Pro. He later said "Before you think about trying it out on the PGA Tour, you better be able to consistently beat everybody YOU know, and everybody THEY know. EVERYBODY."
And in most cases, even that would not be enough to get you out there and keep you out there. Those guys are good, is not just a slogan.

I’m just hoping he wins so his wife doesn’t beat him up 😳 I’m a woman and that was my 1st thought when I saw he was winning today.

I thought that he had some wife issues a few years ago when his game faltered. I was surprised when I saw his kids in Greensboro watching him play and he mentioned his wife back home in the interview. Hopefully things are back to normal. Kids really don’t need to suffer. Especially with issues at home. Lots of good publicity for our university today on national tv.

It's amazing to me how a tour pro can lose his game for a time after a huge amount of success with all the support coaches and practice available. Justin Thomas lately and Jordan Spieth for several years and seems Rickie Fowler did until lately.

Just like that guy. Seems so down to earth and not an arrogant elitist jerk like so many PGA Tour players.
And, yes, PGA play is WORLDS different than top notch amateur play. Guys like me and Lucas and PGA players don’t really think about it - just autopilot and muscle memory. Not putting myself quite in the same category as a PGA Tour player, but I can compete.
Great day across the board:
- US women’s soccer team loses
- Good guy Lucas Glover wins
