He has done amazing things from the time he took the program. Even this year bringing us to a 20th ranked ending with a team that lacked star players in a few areas. That would be a great year for any other acc program. We have the blessed privilege to consider it a down year.
As the head coach he runs the program according to his moral, ethical, and effective means he chooses. He takes a lot of criticism from people who want to be his puppet master. They know better how to recruit, call plays and win games. Coaches say they don’t listen, but what they hear is a continual criticism of their actions. When Alabama talked with Dabo that criticism was the one thing I feared would push him over the edge.
Criticism has its place but it can eat you up like a cancer. Be wise, and rise above it, let go of the imaginary strings and accept the the head as the head, and sit back and enjoy the rest of the ride.

Some fail to recognize two things can hold true ...

1) Dabo succeeded like no other coach could have in masterminding and leading Clemson Football growth from 2011 forward culminating with national championships in 2016 and 2018.
2) Dabo's and his coaches' recruiting results declined after the 2018 championship, most noticeably at OL, WR and QB, and as a result, team performance declined especially after TL16 and ETN departed for the NFL.
It's easy to see how a good man who has worked very hard and achieved the highest levels of success and fame while putting $100 million dollars in the bank could become more complacent and less adaptable in his career path.

Don’t disagree with you about the constant criticism from the arm chair quarterbacks. But if criticism bothers him he better not ever go to Bama. Everyone forgets even Saban was criticized about the game passing him by when he did not change his ground and pound offense and stingy defense. Coaches have to do what they feel is right.
