I agree with you. Chad was an important part of Clemson’s rise to a regular playoff contender. I hate that none of his head coaching jobs worked out for him, but I am thankful for what he did for Clemson Football.

He made progress at SMU but should have never taken the Arkansas job as it was a bad fit. His desire to climb the ladder. At all costs was his downfall

Yep should have stayed at smu. They are in great location have money and have potential. The most winning program in the country from 80 to 84 until the death penalty. Other programs have done worse and not received the death penalty.

BINGO, and that is the problem that I have with the Chad. He has shown more than once that he doesn't have any patients for allowing the better things in the coaching world to come to him, and that's bc of his lack of patients and being pushy/forceful bc of it. Everything that he done once he left the high school ranks without any college coaching experience at all, he forced his way into positions that he just wasn't ready for. So, IMO, that is not the type of man that I like seeing with his name attached to Clemson. IMO he used his position at Clemson without allowing his position at Clemson work for him in the long haul for himself. Because of his lack of patients, he pushed his way into positions that he wasn't ready for at the college level, and he failed bc of it!!!
Dabo being who he is, I can almost hear him telling the Chad to slow down bc he was trying to climb the latter in the college ranks a little to fast, but the Chad didn't want to hear any of it bc he was so successful in the HS ranks. Even when a person moves up the ladder in what they do best, and even though the jobs are the same, they are done in a different way the higher up the ladder that you climb, and the Chad didn't have the patience to stop, look around, listen and approach with caution, and he failed bc of it....

We all have to know our roles in life.Everyone isn't cut out to
be the CEO of the company but we can contribute.Maybe down the
road, Morris can be a good head coach at a lower division,if not
then he has to know his role and do it well.

I am hoping Chad opens Riley’s eyes to the potential or the spread and Riley opens chads eyes to the potential of the air raid and we end up with a hybrid that is better than both and it’s keeps DC’s guessing at what’s happening.

Chad’s offense got the ball rolling, Clemson was able to then parlay that momentum into continued recruiting success and obviously performance on the field. Scott and Elliott were instrumental in that too, but without Chad, I dont believe Elliott or Scott would have had the horses to have that type of success. Clemson’s inept offense over the last couple of years has hurt recruiting, especially when you look at WR. Clemson has missed on most of those top WR that they used to have a legit shot at before…hopefully the offense can show life and Clemson recruiting can get back to what it was.
*Note- yes NIL has changed things as well

I'll never forget the game vs G.T. If I remember correctly it was Dw4 freshman yr and Chad kept running and running and running an undersized Deshaun. I thought he was gonna kill him.

I think you will see Morris improve as a coach as he learns the Riley system. I don’t guess that we , as fans, will be privileged to know how they will work together but I assure you that Mr. Swinney knows exactly what he is doing.

Never would have got DW without the Chad.... I hear what everyone is saying, but I think taking an analyst role M-Th so he can fly back to TX to watch his son play football is a win-win. He will stay in his lane and I am sure that was made VERY clear by Dabo and Riley in one on one, man to man meetings.
