Small victory for me.

I finally paid off my main credit card. All remaining credit balances are on 0% interest from promotional purchases or balance transfers and all can & will be paid off before promotional periods end.
I know in sharing this information an unforeseen expense is going to pop up and derail it once again, but it's nice to finally weather through the multiple car expenses, last minute flights and travels, and medical costs and see a 0 again.
Now I can start saving for fun money...like Pasadena...

It's a race between my wife and I which one will finish

paying off debt quickest (what'd you think I was saying).
My wife will probably win considering I picked up her car issues, Cole's issues, a couple sudden flights when her mom passed away and when her niece was born. It's amazing how those things can really throw a wrench in your budgeting.
Anna and I are weird with our financing, we're very open and honest with it, but we aren't joined together like most married couples. I pay for everything except the electric bill, she pays for that. Going to be interesting to see what'll happen now that she has a new job making double her old one, I'm hoping I get to shed some expenses onto her.

checking account, but we never use it. So there!
I don't know, we always thought we'd do it but never have, and don't feel the need to now.
We both have our own incomes and can spend the money how we please. Anna is more of a saver and I'm more of a spender, probably would cause more issues if the money was in the same pot, lol.

idk. that's what we did when we first moved in together. all the "bills/groceries/eating out/stuff we do together" comes out of the joint. We each have our own accounts for other stuff.
I had more debt coming in and I pay for that (for a few more months anyway until I can tell SCSLC to suck it!) Also, if my family ever thought that K's money was 'my' money, they'd be after me all the time. So, we keep some stuff separate.
Of course, it's more complicated since we have two households. Blah!

she still has her old account because apparently its too much of a hassle for her to change the direct deposit to the new account (she's just being lazy) so twice a month I log into that account online and transfer her pay to our joint account.

another kid or two! That'll take care of you newly acquired wealth. My dream is to finish paying off the little I now owe and get my i-phone and hotspot so I can be a full-fledged lunger! Or, put a septic tank at the cabin I've been working on for six years. Hmmm?
You're right, something major will break down or wear out first.

Laughable in that you could never save up that much or laughable that a kid only costs 50k?
I've always set savings goals for myself that I have to reach before I'll undertake a new expense. I'd like to do the same with kids.

never have had kids if I needed to save 50gs before having one. For us, it was about having a kid/kids when we were mature enough and ready. Financially ready plays a part, but wasn't the deciding factor. That is just us though, I commend anyone who could save 50k just to have a kid. I mean, I have retirement and stuff if I HAD TO come up with a ton of money, but not 50k cash at hand.

Between all the stuff I want to do to my house and the boats/cars I want, I just can't see myself ever being able to afford kids. I think I'd much rather have that 22' Donzi Classic with a 496 over a son or daughter.

Just electricity, life insurance, natural gas, homeowners insurance, cell phone bill, cable/internet bill, landscape bill, housekeeper bill, preschool bill, water bill, termite renewal, IPTAY bill, season ticket purchase. Then i just have to pay for gas, clothing, food, and my TigerNet donation. And a hotel for two night games (in Clinton where it's cheap).
The wife pays for her cell phone and the mortgage.
