How many think the coots

Nov 24, 2024, 11:08 PM

get in the playoffs with a win over us?

And if that’s the belief, why isn’t Clemson in with a win against them?

I do not think they would get in. I might be wrong, but I believe that Alabama and Ole Miss will be ranked and will remain ranked ahead of them because of head-to-head results and having posted the same record (9-3, in theory). If we win we just need a couple of teams ahead to lose for us to get an at-large spot

On Monday week, take the top 16 ranked college teams, put the names in a hat and draw 12 names and that is who makes the cfp. First 4 names drawn get the byes. Etc.

As good of a system as we now have. Might even be better.

If they win there will be an argument t for them to get in. They are playing better than Alabama and Ole Miss at this point.

Doesn't matter. They lost to both. If all of them have 3 losses, Alabama and ole miss hold the deciding factor over the coots which is a win

Ole Miss beat them like a drum

Clemson has beat 1 team with a winning record so far. By 4 points. We lost (badly) to the two teams we played with a pulse. There is almost no scenario where we will be chosen as an at large team win or lose over SCAR.

I don’t see them getting in either unless multiple chaos dominoes were to fall. Highly unlikely. If they beat us handily, they probably are worthy.

I think if we lose to them and ND loses, they’re in.

ND loses…..to who? USC?…..not gonna happen.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Since we won't lose to them, this is a moot point***

As of right now I don't think Clemson or South Carolina gets with whoever wins the game. Best shot is Syracuse to beat Miami and Clemson vs SMU in the ACC Championship. The way I see it now unless some crazy stuff happens this weekend.

Oregon (Lock)
Ohio State (Lock)
Texas (Lock)
Penn St. (Lock)
Notre Dame (Lock)

ACC Champion (Lock)
Boise St. (Group of 5 highest ranking)
Big 12 Champion

Tennessee (Beats Vandy then a Lock)
Indiana (Benefited the most from Alabama and Ole Miss Losing)
Loser of ACC Championship if only 2 Losses

Leaves 1 Spot to figure out between the rest

Forgot about Georgia. They are a Lock unless GT beats them

I think either could get in with SC needing a little more help than Clemson needs.

But if you're wondering what could get SC in and get Clemson left out? The fact that they would have possibly 3 ranked wins and us only 1.

For both, it comes down to who else loses.

A win doesn't put you in the driver's seat but a loss will most definitely eliminate them and most likely us (baring Cuse beats Miami and we then win ACCCG)

We had a weaker schedule.
The only currently ranked team we beat is a pretender(Pitt).

They beat ranked TAMU and Mizzou.

They also had very competitive games against Bama and LSU in losses.

We didn't show up in our two losses.

If they beat us they'll have 3 wins against ranked teams to our 1.

Win, and we moot this whattaboutism.

We both will be a close call, whoever wins. And we both may need a little help.
