Since Dabo has it pegged right, and the Heisman has turned

into a "Stats" award, not much doubt in my mind that they will award it to Alabama QB Mac Jones. You can't argue that he has had a great statistical season.

But, if you look at the Heisman Trust's Mission Statement:

"The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. The winners of the trophy epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work."

There is not a college football player in the country who comes anywhere close to Trevor Lawrence as far as fulfilling that mission statement. He not only worked his butt off ON the field, but was a nationwide leader OFF the field, and one of the two main reasons, along with Justin Fields of Ohio State, that the tide of public opinion turned, and we actually have HAD a college football season. Not only that, he got involved with social issues, trying to bring some calm to that festering storm. He is the epitome of a student leader.

As Dabo said, it will be a shame when the Heisman misses out on the chance to have their name attached to Trevor Lawrence.

There is a chance the trio of Alabama offensive stars split the 1st place votes so much that Trevor could take the lead.

Bama is so funny because no one was predicting them above 3rd after last season. They are good but there is a ton of media hype.

I was mad when he won it too but there us no denying what he meant to Louisville football and the fact they were a far different team without him

CDS' comments sealed TL16's Heisman vote as "NO"...

I can't stand what the Heisman has become and care nothing about that award.

However, with CDS effectively calling out the Heisman voters as morans, the voters will use that as motivation to NOT vote for TL16. In their minds, "who is this self-righteous head coach telling US who we should be voting for? What does he know? He thinks he knows more than we do? We will show him where he stands!"

Smart move, boys!

We'll see just how irrelevant the Heisman becomes when TL16 shows out against Bama and Jones carrying that 25 pounds of bronze.

"pursuit of excellence with integrity"

Will use in poster

I'm of the belief that he will somehow win as a darkhorse, based on the vote spitting b/w the 'Bam players

That is my hope as well, but for it to happen, he would have

to be named 2nd on those split ballots, instead of the Bama lovers putting both (or THREE) Bama players ahead of him. That's the rub.
