Sign that Spurrier is on decline is Penn St, Texas, Washing

Jan 2, 2014, 3:44 AM

Ton or even Florida even don't seem very interested in pursuing him in spite of his recent "success ." I know Florida has Muschamp I believe the writing is on the wall there as a program in serious decline.

You are being silly.

Spurrier has had some nice success.

But I would think his advanced age would be a good reason for people to not pursue him...

Yes, as a "Coot" I rue the day that man decides to become a full time golfer.

Until then, I will enjoy my teams success and I will also continue pulling for Clemson 364 days a year.

Truth hurts I understand but I do admire your good natured

Response MP. It's a lot more fun to debate the rival with someone like you who brings up a well thought, reasonable response. You may be right but it seems to me he might still have a good five or so years of coaching ahead of him and these days that's an eternity compared to the number of years most coaches remain at the same university.

Yeah, Spurrier is old school.

He has tasted big success at Florida.

He tried the NFL and did not seem to like it.

That is also why I think Clemson fans who hate Dabo are kinda being silly.

Dabo seems very dedicated to Clemson, and is not looking to use you guys as a stepping stone.

Examples...
Franklin will leave Vandy eventually.

Malzahn supposedly is interviewing for the Cleveland Browns position.

Lane Kiffin...

Steve Sarkisian...

Anyway, Dabo has built Clemson for long term success.

Very well put. Thanks for that MP. Congrats on USC's win

Nt so much decline, but probably age.
Spurrier wil probably coach at S.C. till he retires.
Besides,he has a more important goal than a new gig.
He wants to be the first coot H.C.to win the SEC.

SEC champs won't happen, USCjr just had their best 3 year

run with 11 wins each season and have nothing to show for it other than some really cool 5th place rings.

All depends on where you play. CU basically played three decent teams all year. Well 2 1/2 when one considers Georgia's defense. Against the other two teams, Clemson looked like much less than the elite team that many seems to claim exists. So if you want to claim some type of prestige by winning a JV conference once, and backing into a BCS game, along with three or four others, because of conference ties, go ahead. It means little, and in your heart you know it.

Didn't the coots back into one of their two divisional championships? The coots would have had the same record as us if they played our schedule.

spurrier has 3 years left

Jan 2, 2014, 6:40 AM

Imo. Where do we go from there as far as next coach? No clue!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I really hope y'all don't get Dantonio to come home

Jan 2, 2014, 8:49 AM

I think USC will push hard for him since he played for y'all. MSU is a good job though and he might not want to leave what he built there.

Re: Why would Spurrier leave a Top 10 program which he has

Jan 2, 2014, 9:40 AM

put in place at SC to go to any of those teams?

Spurrier is going to enjoy the next few years reaping the benefits of his hard work loading up SC and then retire.

Did anyone hear the Fiesta Bowl where they stated that SC was the youngest team in the country this season?

If the Old Ball Sack with in his 50's they'd be all over him***
