Just think what that energy and passion could accomplish if it were used for good, to support the program rather than tear it down all the time?

And gave Brad a chance. The best thing for these players and our school is to demand a change from this coach who is just counting minutes and cash in checks. The best way to support our program is to demand getting a coach who cares and represents us well.

It’s time for a change. Everyone knows it. So why wait?
It’ll signal to our players we care about winning now, and we are moving in a positive direction. Probably save some transfers from happening.
It’ll also signal to good young coaches that there is an opening at a school that has shown in the past that they will support their program at an elite level and give the coach a long leash to develop their culture.
It’s the wise move.

It’s not that I hate BB. He isn’t going to get us to the next level. The BS about him being the winningest head coach when he essentially became simultaneously became the losingest head coach is just ridiculous. He’s not the best we’ve had. He’s average in terms of Clemson coaches. He’s just exceptionally good at keeping his job.
We are going no where with him. We all know this. Let just take a shot with something new. We aren’t interested in consistently average best is the standard here. We can at least give some one a shot at doing that.

The problem is that he isn’t engaging the fans. I don’t think anyone is excited about the future. Dabo essentially faked the excitement for a few years to get people invested. He got the real coaches and facilities in place to make the run off of what was really just hope and a genuine heart on the table vulnerability.
Brownell is the polar opposite he does what ever he can to temper expectations so he can slightly exceed them to keep his job. If he’s going to be the guy he needs to go all in, the fans, the players, the admin, needs to be on notice that we are building something special. We have never had that from Brownell.

We spent $60 something million on renovating Littlejohn 5 or 6 years ago. This was dead in the middle of Brownell's tenure. If the money should have been spent differently, I don't remember Coach Brownell speaking up and saying so.
As far as fan support, Littlejohn has been known to be a really hard place to play at various points in the program, so the fans are willing. If they are not supporting the Brownell teams well enough, are you not making an argument for why there should be a change?
To me, if he can get things turned around, get the team playing like it was a month ago, and get us back into the dance, then he should remain the coach. If not then we need to move on. Fan support isn't going to improve if they don't feel like the team is improving.

…our all-time winningest coach.
You say that over and over. What that means is that Clemson has left a mediocre coach in place so long that the sheer length of tenure has allowed him to win AND LOSE more games than any other basketball coach in Clemson history.
We can wait until the end of the season to make a move, but there’s no need for further evaluation. Real success for CBB is an extreme outlier; every year we retain him is an affirmation of Clemson’s dedication to mediocrity. You want to see fans excited and invested in Clemson Basketball? Hire a real coach who can recruit and develop talent.

I support Clemson basketball, not Brownell. Sort of like Tommy Bowden with Clemson football - stopped going to the games before Dabo was hired.
You honestly don't think it's time for a change? From an objective standpoint. The risk/reward of pursuing another coach at this point is minimal at best. Outside of contract obligations, the reputation of our program has zero to lose. I'm just not seeing it Judge.

I just recognize the idiocy in demanding more from a program that is poorly supported to begin with.
We already get a great ROI with men’s basketball. That’s precisely why Brad keeps getting raises and extensions. The AD knows that we are better than we should be based on how we fund basketball and how our fans support it.

We should want better for our program.
But we have no right to “demand better” if we aren’t willing to put our money where our mouth is.
Given Clemson’s level of support in basketball, we don’t deserve what we’ve gotten with Brad. We deserve less. So please spare me with the sob story about how we don’t want to be mediocre.
If you want to be better at basketball, prove it. Tell Graham Neff that you want to be a top 25 program and will do whatever it takes to make it happen, even if it means sacrificing some money for the football program.
Are you willing to do that? Or do you just want to complain and hire another “young up and comer,” hope he wins, and hope he stays?

All I wanted for tonight was to beat the worst program in the league, at home, in a game we were favored to win by 10.5 and had a 23 point first half lead in.

out of this program to the point where the little passion that remains is focused primarily towards seeing him hit the road. Can't agree more. Time to corral what's left of that energy and use it for something good, like finding some new blood at the helm to lead us out of this decade-long malaise.

If you build it the fans and support will come. He never built any consistency. In football we have 10 plus wins. In baseball we are winning the midweek games and typically 40 wins per year. Brownell never built stability.

Just out of curiosity why are u so passionate about the basketball team. I am a die hard Clemson fan also and support the basketball team and hate to see them struggle, but u seem to be connected in some way. Please understand this isn't meant to be negative in anyway?
