I think he's becoming an excellent OC. I am still struggling with the 2nd down and long-running decisions, but I think it is probably because of my lack of understanding of football strategy in those situations.
3rd down and long conversions (possibly too many, but I digress), red zone, getting DJ back, and just points. By all those metrics, how can you not like what he is doing?

There were some great play calls last night, but some bone-headed calls as well. I do think we should stop calling middle run plays with 20 yards to go to move the chains..... and should stop throwing WR screens on 3rd and long.
We'll get there.... the use of TEs incorporated with slants, drags, crossing rountes in the middle of the field and down the seam is a huge step in the right direction.... I think we need to do more of it and in order to keep the middle from getting clogged, throw the WR screens and flat passes, but on shorter yardage situations.

2nd half he finally let DJ throw the ball. At least he appears to be willing to go off ###### when 3 runs in a row don't work.

The run plays up the middle make the defense honor that because if they blitz from the edge it's a big gain.
You can thank the lack of sacks on DJ partially on the runs up the middle.
Not every play has to make yards to be a good play, especially if the 3rd down conversion rate is good and ours has been this year.

Agree on the 2nd and long run plays but man it's good to see the offensive playbook opened up!! We are watching thiese young players and new coordinators adapt and improve week to week. Optimistic about where this team is headed. Gritty team with talent and determination - this is Clemson football!

3rd and 8. Another run. Pass was open all night and DJ had all day to throw.
He called a decent game but also killed drives soley with his play calling.
Would love us to implement the rb screen as well. Best play all night was the misdirection DJ td.
One thing I'm so glad he's changing, the behind the line passes. We called it once and it got stuffed. That was Tony's crutch. He's getting better by the week imo, but still seems conservative in stretches

On the same drive as DJ's last td, there was a timely sprint draw called on a 3rd and ~ 10 with Mahfa, I believe.

Don't get me wrong, I love where this team is going......but how do we know when Streeter or Dabo is making the call?
