Winning ACC or beating the Coots?

Nov 25, 2012, 11:35 AM

I had this conversation with a fellow tiger friend of mine who says Dabo should go because he can't beat SCAR. I argue that you can't ignore all of the other things Dabo has accomplished other than beating our rival. We never won a Division or ACC Championship under Bowden, consistently pulled a "Clemson" against inferior foes, but beat SCAR several times.

So I ask, what means more? Beating a our rival from the "greatest football conference on earth", or winning championships in the LAUGHABLE ACC?

For some reason, we can't seem to do both.

this year we did neither.***

is having a team that can play with anyone and not get embarrassed on national TV. The wins against rivals and conference championships will be a by-product.

winning it means very little in terms of any real meaning. It's akin to winning the big east or something.

but, we are losing to the chickens.

Why wouldn't you want to elevate the program and whip them, too?

Recent history shows that if we had beat the chickens, we would have also contended for or won the conference.

Why settle for second best in the state?

Should Dabo be on the "hot-seat?"

As much as I hate to keep losing against a good (hate to say it, ugh) SCAR team, being able compete for ACC Championships is hard to argue. Embarrassing as the ACC is, until Clemson leaves the conference, it is what it is...I guess.
