I just don't see him ever being an NFL back. To make it in the NFL, you really need to be elite at all facets of the game. But at the very least, you need to be an absolute workhorse who can bust through the line and get 3-4 yards every carry, or be lightning fast and a threat to take it to the house. Shipley is pretty good at everything, but not elite at anything. He would be very slow in the NFL. And we can see he doesn't have the power. And he's also not extremely shifty or have elite vision. He's okay at everything and I'm glad we have them, but the NFL is a different animal for the back. It's why we've produced so few NFL backs.

Ship has been holding his lower back the last few series. I wonder if they tried taking him out but he’s having none of it?

I would suspect he was upset with the weak OL line push on first and second down
