or straight drive is what I used to call it. I don't know why.
I miss shifting tooling around. Wife will probably divorce me, but maybe I could find a garage to keep it in. LOL.

I've never NOT had a manual shift vehicle in my driveway since my very first car. Even on the few rare years I drove an automatic as a primary, I still always had one as a backup or a toy (truck or Jeep). My wife has always had a manual since I met her and still does today. Since I do the driving on trips, I bought a Nissan Armada back at the end of March. I don't have tags or insurance on the Mazda, but I've been really slow about getting rid of it. I guess there's a part of me that doesn't want to let go of that straight drive legacy. Of course...those parts ain't the hips and knees that ache like a summabitch after a long trip in the Mazda, LOL.

If I get another one it will be a convertible of some type, which limits my options, but I miss the ragtop.
I think I am too old for a roadster, I had a Mini S that I liked a lot at one time. Like a go cart on steroids.

Yeah, I kind of figured you meant a fun toy type vehicle.

Mine is more suited to something like a college kid vehicle...low miles, great running condition, and as reliable as anything on the road but it has bumps and bruises. It's most certainly not a 'looker'. I've just got to decide to let go instead of running different scenarios in my head looking for ways to keep it. It always was a fun car to drive around town.

When I went up the saluda grade on I-26 w a full car I had to put it into 2nd gear w my flashers on going 30 mph bc had such little HP. But that car got 45MPG which was awesome for road trips to Panic shows. Good times w that car.

I remember there was a plaque mounted in the engine compartment warning you NOT to install air conditioning as the motor couldn’t support it.
Also, I burned it to the ground.

You couldn't tell the front from the back from the profile unless you could see the steering wheel.

0-60 in about 22 seconds, and not kidding when I say that thing topped out at 78mph on flat road, and also not kidding that I got a ticket on 26 towards Columbia for 78mph in a 65.
My parental units knew what they were doing. It doesn't matter how vehicularly reckless you wanted to be as a 16 or 17 year old, that car was reckless antivenom.

She is a rare breed if she's pushing a clutch with her hand.
