On the Wimmins basketball side, I see "the old reliable"

winning it all. That would be the UConn Huskies, for anyone that has been living under a rock for the last 20 years.
I am sure Dawn Staley and her Capons would love to face them in the finals just to finally prove to themselves and everybody else that they could actually beat them. Butt, if the Coots sleep on Lewisville at all, they won't even MAKE the finals, much less win it all.
To that, I say: GO CARDINALS!

I think South Carolina is still the class of the court this year. The Huskies have their best player back, so that will help them a lot. The Cardinals will have to sink 3 players in the paint to try and slow down Carolina's big girl down low. They will also have to score at least 60 points. Should prove interesting.

UConn does have Bueckers back, but she's still not looking 100%. I'd guess 80-90. That said, still makes her better than just about any other player on the court. My biggest concern for UConn is foul trouble for their bigs. Olivia Nelson-Ododa is good for 2-3 fouls a game that probably shouldn't be called yet somehow always go against her. Dorka Juhasz broke her wrist horribly and now can't provide any relief/depth for ONO. Their third big is apparently staying in Storrs because of academic issues. That means a lot of 4 guards on the court at a time, so if UConn isn't hitting at a high percentage, they probably lose the rebounding battle by a large margin.

Who cares other than coot fans who survive based on wimmins b-ball being their only source of sports relevance.

Typical tater narrative. Because you suck like a black hole at the sport, you deem it irrelevant. Yet in the same breath will revel in softball achievements simply bc you are better than us at that sport, making it relevant in your small mind.
Bless your hypocritical little heart.

Felt bad for State. They had that game in regulation. But the fight they showed was impressive. Depends on which SC team shows up but will root for Lewis either way.

male shooting guard, instead of the "push launch" that most of the gals use. She got skills.

indeed, a lot of the girls really shoot a 'set shot' they may barely leave the floor
but Bueckers had a legit jump shot and she can 'create her own shot'

I think Lady Coots win by dominating inside and getting UCONN in foul trouble

Guess you have been out of touch for years but as much as I hate to say it, South Carolina has a better program than UConn.

SC has made 3 final fours?
UConn is in their 14th in a row
National Championships? it's 11 to 1
maybe they are close, thanks to the last 5-6 years, but nobody would say they have a better program than UConn

UConn actually has not won a championship...

...since usuck won their first. Whether you want to admit it or not, the guard has changed, and women's bball now has a rotation of combo guards rather than just one point guard in UConn... they lost to Ga Tech women this year, so, they have ###### in the armor just like everyone else.

did you read my post?
i said they might be close based on recent results... but in no shape form or fashion is SC the better program
Bueckers (who missed half the season) did not play against Ga Tech... who lost ~half their games to ranked teams and made the NCAAT
and yes, UConn hasn't won since SC did... neither has SC... and UConn won the 4 prior to SC's
when some other school puts together a string of 6-7 years in a row of Final Fours, you might have an argument

Just makes me love Clemson even more. Listening to the dribble coming out of the talking heads down here in the Low Country you’d think womens basketball was the greatest thing ever. Really hope they lose so we can drink up some more coot tears. Feels like the baseball sweep happened forever ago.

Why do you feel it necessary to denigrate WBB? Does it make you feel like a manly man to do so? I hope to God you are not a father of daughters. I feel sorry for them if so with the putrid, caveman mentality that you appear to possess.
In one breath you berate having pride in a sport that you dominate at, in the next you express a desire for us to lose so that you can celebrate it. Zero self awareness.

We beat UConn this season with their entire team healthy. We also beat them last year and held them to a whopping 2 points in the first quarter. They may have a storied history but in terms of the here and now along with foreseeable future, South Carolina WBB is the nation's premiere team.
We have been wire to wire #1 all season. Dawn won Naismith COY, Aliyah won Naismith National Player of the Year and Naismith Defensive Player of the Year, the first time in the history of the Naismith award's inception that the same program swept all of their awards. Dawn also won the US Basketball Writers Association COY. Aliyah won US Basketball Writers Association National Player of the Year and Aliyah also won the AP National Player of the Year Award.
We are currently an 8.5 point favorite over Louisville. We've already beaten both Stanford and UConn once this season so should we beat Louisville and advance to the title game, both teams already hold an L from us.
