I really hope we can land Zion even though he will prob be a One and Done prospect I think he can do big things for clemson and be the ?? In that short time. If he goes to unc or Kentucky he will just be another great player to come through but at clemson he would be a super star being our first ever top rated player and first big time recruit in who knows how long prob ever!! Go Tigers!! Our team doing good this year only helps our cause as well.

He will pack Littlejohn every game

Jan 3, 2018, 10:24 PM

Our current team is on a run and gaining a lot of momentum. So, no disrespect intended. But, you add Zion and every game is a sell out.

Jan 4, 2018, 3:03 AM [ in reply to Re: TNET: Zion Williamson sets 'Decision Day' ]

I'm reading all the hype on here of the last 3 or 4 months and I find myself laughing out bc, at the end of last season, 85% of Clemson BB fans were shouting out for D-RAD to cut our looses and fire Da Bum named Brad Brownell. I'll even agree that our program was in spotty condition, but Brownell had had only one season in the re-make of Littlejohn, an now he is in his second season of the re-making of littlejohn, and he has our team looking to be the best that's it's been since the day he became HC of Clemson BB. Some time more patients are needed than most fans are willing and wanting to give. I'll say that there are times that good things come to those that has the patients to wait!!! Now is the time for Brownell to work even harder and get Clemson Basketball to become something more than an easy win for the rest of the ACC to pad their season stats with. Go Tigers, be more than a whipping post for the ACC!!!

Well said. Patience is a virtue for sure. The only thing a patient wants to do is get well.??

Maybe 85 percent of this "fan" forum but that wasn't the case with most connected to Clemson. BTW I've been CBB supporter. Go Tigers!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

85% is a gross exaggeration.

Jan 4, 2018, 10:51 AM [ in reply to Re: TNET: Zion Williamson sets 'Decision Day' ]

I would go as far as saying it was a minority percentage. And then too, are a the same saying they wanted him fired, are they the guys above saying they think he's turned the corner?

I think you're getting things a little mixed up. I would say most fans could see this was, by far, Brownell' best returning team since he's been here.

But then again, aren't you the guy who said CJ Spiller should turn down the Chief's nice paycheck on a matter of principle? And then you TD'd me because I said CJ knows the game and he knows exactly what he's doing? That was you, wasn't it?

Jan 4, 2018, 11:47 AM [ in reply to Re: TNET: Zion Williamson sets 'Decision Day' ]

While our patients has paid off you can't honestly be blind to our collapse over multiple seasons in a row, where our offense looked putrid and our defensive game had slipped. We lost many many games choking away in the last seconds of the games during the course of this time. We also got bounced in the first round of the NIT, once we made it. Guys kept transferring out and we did not look like a functional squad in years. Basically, we had a stretch to where we all (fans and all but that one player) watched one player try to win the season for us. It is quite understandable why fans felt the way they did.

Having said that, I am so excited about the future of Clemson Basketball and not only happy for Brad but also proud of where this team is. He came into DRad's office saying he had a plan, and while that plan was reported vaguely - it is obvious that he actually did. The plan and our guys putting in the necessary work is blooming right in front of us.

As Jeff Scott would say, "It's a Great day to be a Clemson Tiger!"

The Brownell. bashers were the same ones that called Dabo a cheer leader.

It's easy to see that Zion has put many hours into practicing what he wants his game to be. His skills with the ball in his hands shows that basketball has capture his undivided attention over anything in his life. I hope that he ends up at Clemson, but, his skills show that this kid can go any where he wants to go, and if it is Clemson, he will be the ticket for helping to bring other elite players to Clemson. This kid can be the program builder for our Clemson BB program that we have always wished to land!!!

Zion coming to Clemson is pretty much a one and done. It would take more than just Zion to get more elite players. I love where Clemson basketball is right now. Would Reed and Mitchell return? Both are redshirt juniors. Don't read this the wrong way, I would LOVE to see Zion come in next year. I believe he instantly makes everyone else better.

Of course Reed and Mitchell will return next year. I can imagine they are a big part of bringing Zion in. Pretty much telling him "hey envision yourself plugged in for Donte" and that's our team next year minus Gabe also

This would change things...

Jan 4, 2018, 10:38 AM

It took a CJ Spiller to get Tiger football going! Look at the recruiting now.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It might help us to upgrade recruiting somewhat, but...

Jan 4, 2018, 10:43 AM

He will be a one and done and won't really change the fact that we won't be getting the most eilte players. It will be like Ben Simmons at LSU. CBB will get guys that are talented that will stay probably 4 years. I like that anyway. That works in college hoops too. If we land him though and have a great year next year again, at least we can upgrade recruit slightly and that will make all of the difference. It will be huge.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Seems like XT is a better hoops recruiter than Brad

Jan 4, 2018, 11:06 AM

We should have him help with shooty hoops recruiting more.
