security camera deal of the day at Lowe's

I don't know anything about these, but Mrs No has been mentioning these and found this deal of today at Lowe's. Is this any good, or you like something else better? Decent price? I'm working on other remodeling stuff and don't have time to research thoroughly today.

but it was Nest, so expensive. And a little tricky since Nest built the thing to replace a wall mounted light not a soffit mounted one.

because of power and wi-fi requirements, need to stay close to the house.

I just use battery deer/trail cams at my front driveway (license plate height), chicken coop, barn, etc. Weather-hardy. I don't have the "BOO!" feature to scare anything away. Or wi-fi to my phone -- but you can get those if you want (one example link below, there are a ton of choices and features nowadays). Even solar powered. Some day I'm gonna upgrade. I'm worried more about feral critters than feral humans where I live though.

And talk to people. The story I hear is interior house painters showed up early and she talked to them. I work from home, she’s retiring in 1 1/2 yrs, extremely safe area and hard to see if/what cars are here from the road. I’m not feeling the need.

Good post. I have been looking at them for years.
My deal is I want sharp video that hooks to a computer.
I would prefer battery run cameras.
All I run across need a smart phone, and I aint smart.
I don't want my crap on a cloud.
