Where were you sitting for the Fumblerooski play?

I believe I was in Section US. Made it hard to see what was really happening. Totally faked out by punter. Thought ball was snapped over his head. By the time I spotted Leroy, he was well on his way. I'll always remember hoping he would not be tackled so we would get the ball back with enough time to still do something. Seems like he got tackled short of the goal line, they milked the clock, but then scored and we still almost did something to get back in the game. Anybody remember?

the goal line. I yelled "Fake punt!!" but apparently no one heard me. My conscience is clear, I did all I could do.
FSU kicked the game-winner with about 30 seconds left. I don't remember us getting close to FG position at the end of the game...

The only fans dumber than Ole Spud on that play, that I have ever seen, was the dadgum Kentucky fans that were attempting to tear down the goal posts while the LSU player was enroute to the game winning TD......before they realized what had happened.

Punter fooled me as well. Thought the game was over. I may have cried, but I've repressed that memory.

I was in Jamestown, NY. I'd just played a golf tournament in a complete downpour. My team had won the previous year, but finished in 2nd this time. It was raining so hard that the pro shop had sold out of rain gear. The pro took me to the kitchen and gave me a big brown garbage bag. I cut holes out for arms and it worked great.
I remember jumping up and slapping the ceiling on the previous play because I thought we'd gotten an interception. Then, I slapped the ceiling again when I thought the snap went over the punter's head. That was a great fake.

Jumped in the air, of course all I could see was the students on the hill. I went nuts , YEAH! We've got it! Then Butler comes rolling out of there. The thing that still pisses me off to this day about that is that Bobby Bowden called for and was awarded a time out after the puntrooskie---and they had no timeouts left!!!! Should've been a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty on FSU which would've made for a more difficult FG.

Pretty miserable weather that day.
Wish the two linebackers that ran into each other trying to intercept the duck the FSU QB threw on 2nd or 3rd down had communicated with each other and one of them had made the interception.
Then we'd be talking about where you were when Clemson kicked the winning field goal against FSU.
Oh well. Coulda, shoulda, woulda.

Seems I recall two Clemson defenders colliding trying to catch a dying quail that obviously slipped out of FSU QB's hand when he threw it. It was very wet that day.

Only one defender and it was Vince Taylor , who played LB. He is reminded of it on a daily bases, but a good guy who takes it well. Just went right between his hands.

I had just turned and said something like, "Bowden isn't going to punt. If he does, he loses the game!" Then the crowd started screaming and I saw the last 10 yards of the run.

it's been 25+ years since we had those seats, so I don't remember the row and section, but I was there for that game, our seats were in the N upper deck, about 2/3 of the way up in the "I" in "TIGERS"....
I had nightmares about that play for years afterwards.....

on the punter. Our All American DB who eventually played for the Bears, caught Leroy Butler at the 3 yard line after a long run. We held them on 3 downs and they kicked the winning fiedl goal. There was over a minute left, as I recal, but we couldn't score.
