Screwed up ACC women's soccer tourney

Take a break from bashing the coots for a minute and ponder this question:

Why in the wide world of sports does the ACC women's soccer tournament only include 4 teams? Clemson is 5th in standings and will be left out. I could be wrong, but I think there are 12 teams competing, half of which are ranked. The ACC is a strong, deep conference so wouldn't you want to include at a minimum half of the teams?

I know, I know, it's part of Swoffie's master plan to screw over Clemson. But seriously, how jacked up is it that the Tigers will get into the NCAA tournament but not their own conference one?
