So, quick roll call. How has your NFL team done in the draft

so far?
My Jets gambled big time with Quinton Coples. Wish we'd made a more sure-thing pick with the 16th overall selection. What's more upsetting is that a DE I would have much rather preferred, Chandler Jones, went to the Pats. I would've been happy with Hightower, too. But we redeemed ourselves a bit with Stephen Hill, who we were fortunate to snag in the second round; by the way, what a waste of pure talent it was for him to play in the triple option at Georgia Tech! And I really like Demario Davis from Arkansas St., as Bart Scott's time is dwindling.
So, how has your team done as of right now?

My team has done okay, David Wilson was a decent pick-up in the first round but I think we (The Giants if you haven't figured it out yet) will use him in a role similar to Brandon Jacobs and beef him up a little bit. However, the Giants seem to be most productive in the later rounds (Jake Ballard, Victor Cruz, etc.)

i'm a dolphins fan too. i wouldnt say awful yet. i would say "uncertain" with potential for awful. i will concede that tannehill is way overhyped, but i just don't think we had a choice and we had to take him. who knows? maybe he'll pan out. i think taking martin from stanford was a good upgrade to our line. i think we fell on our faces a bit on 3rd round. i think vernon was very questionable (but we took a risk that didn't pan out by waiting until our actual pick instead of trading up like we should have done) we could have possibly landed dwayne allen or a decent receiver or a better DE than vernon. but unless there is something that really sticks out about a player you never know what will happen. hoping for the best

Rams fan here

I really have no idea how or why St. Louis did what they did. I understand trading the 2nd pick down to the sixth pick because they don't need a QB. But STL desperately needs WR's, and they let Jacksonville sneak up and take Blackmon, then traded down again to 14 and missed on Michael Floyd. They did get Quick from App State who may be good, but whiffed on a chance to get an impact receiver.
Also drafted Janoris Jenkins, who has had a ton of issues, so we'll see there. There's a huge need for corners for them, and they drafted two, so it seems like the needs were addressed, just not as well as they could have been.

I don't get a chance to talk to too many Rams fans around here. I like what the Rams did in terms of their positioning in the draft once they didn't have a shot a Richardson. I still would like to see them grab a linebacker and possibly another receiver. I think that they did well with regard to CB, and I think that Quick has a lot of potential to be a go to guy.

Luke Kuechly ILB: VERY happy with this pick. This guy is a tackling machine and has the attitude necessary to be nasty in the NFL. Plus, We really need some help on D and Luke should have no problem replacing Dan Connor.
Amini Silatolu OT: Wut. I suppose we have a "need" on the Oline with all the change up there, but come on...Cam is going to be productive on Offense. We need new blood at the tackle spot to fix our abysmal rush defense. Would have loved to see BT drafted here...or realistically ANY Dlineman...need some help at DE too.

Spoke too soon, Panthers JUST drafter two more
Frank Alexander DE: More of a LB than a DE...whatever meh.
Joe Adams WR: We do need some fresh blood there even though Steve Smith will likely continue to be unstoppable for a couple more years. Thing is, Joe Adams doesn't have the prototypical height or skills to be a WR. NFL.com seems to think he will be good on special teams.

I'm a falcons fan though. They've been focusing on getting some big nastys for the O-Line

Yes he will be 29 when he starts.. but he can settle the QB position for them for the next 6/7 years.. Something Cleveland should salivate over..
Pick a QB to develop in 4/5 years behind.. Whens the last time Cleveland had that kind of stability.

8 "franchise QB's" in the last 10 years or so.
I'll believe it when I see it. Basically, our draft looks like we nailed our first pick, and then we let interns start picking players after that.

Richardson was a no brainer, and a great pick. Weeden, talent wise, was the 3rd best QB in the draft. Yeah, he's 28, but if we get 5-7 productive years from him well worth it. He's far more talented than McCoy. Needed some guys to block for Richardson and got 2 OL known for their toughness. Picked up 2 DL. 2 very athletic LB's and the fastest WR in the draft. Overall. it all comes down to Weeden. He pans out, it's a great draft. He doesn't, and the franchise still lags behind as we don't have a QB. Overall, 3 sure starters in Richardson, Weeden and Scwartz. Benjamin will get a lot of time at WR. the 2 DL will both make the team, as will both LB's. Actually, every pick makes the team IMO. Still need skill players on offense but an already solid D got stronger, as did the pathetic offense.

Obviously Griffen was the huge deal here, so I'll talk on the other guys...
So far, pretty good. Two Guards, another QB, and a LB.
The team certainly needs help on the O-Line, especially LG, and RT. Not sure why the team passed up on Massie out of Mississippi. However, both Guards are strong and fast, and should fit the Zone Blocking Scheme.
A little curious about getting Cousins...I guess it's insurance, and a chance to groom another young QB. Who knows, maybe he can be the teams Matt Flynn. A very capable backup that another team wants and willing to give up picks.
The LB pick is OK. Seems like he's a bit more finesse, and typically the NFC East is smash mouth. Could be a good sub / special package player for Kerrigan and Orakpo.

Refusing to draft @ DL. 2 OLinemen, which will be needed down the road, nevermind that we need DL, LBs, Safeties. Here's a thought Falcons; until you have more than John Abraham for the OL to practice against, then the OL will continue to not be prepared against teams that actually have a D-line. Oh, you brought in a new OC. Great, maybe we'll get another WR/TE or RB to catch Matty Ice's passes, since we just got some more OLinemen to execute the new idea that we don't need a defense.

Made a risky pick. I would have been more comfortable with getting Matt Flynn from FA and then getting a good outside receiver through the draft. Just my 2 cents.
