Anyone traveled 26 to asheville?
How bout asheville to johnson city / bristol?

Trying to visit my kid at King University for baseball.

I use to go up there all the time when I was growing up (50 years ago). My grandparents lived in Bristol and my aunt Bonnie lives right down the road from Kings College. Guess the name is King U. now.

My kid is starting CF for King. Very proud dad. Just wanna figure how to see his fall scrimmage and spring.

Btw.. we played with Caden Grice in our younger years. Caden has always been a beast! Even at 8y! :)

Went to Wake game today, signs all over that said 26 to TN was closed, take alternate routes.

Drove from Seneca SC to Johnson City TN this afternoon. I-26 is open now between Asheville and Johnson City except for the bridge over the Nolichuky River at Erwin Tn.
Only about a 10-minute delay to the trip to drive thru downtown Erwin.

Just watch out for them folks in Erwin - They hung an elephant there in the early 1900s! JK - it’s a nice little detour but you are only off the interstate for a couple of miles.

My in laws have a house up in Johnson city, I26 is wiped out a little after Asheville but there are alternative routes to get into TN starting at the I26 closure at Mars Hill, it’s about 2hrs longer than the usual I26 route though. Make sure you’ve got a full tank of gas before you go through NC, those folks need every drop

Hi.
I for some reason can't get the TNDOT active road closure map to open but a recent PDF map states 26 is closed in several spots in both directions at or near NC/TN line especially.

If youre coming from the upstate you should take the southern route thru ATL

I77 thru LKN is an absolute parking lot since Helene. It’s the main detour for I-40
