Reminiscing - who remembers "Soap and Suds"?

When I was a freshman, I did laundry whenever I ran out of clean underwear, at Dillard Hall. My sophomore year, a buddy introduced me to Soap and Suds, and it was all downhill from there. Drink beer and shoot pool while your clothes are in the spin cycle? What a concept! And after I thought it couldn't get any better, I discovered "fluff and fold" - take them your dirty clothes in bulk, and they would launder, fold and deliver them back to you for $0.49/pound. May sound expensive, but measured against beer and billiards, it was likely a tossup.

I’m pretty sure I would have heard about a place like that.

It was a novelty as was the Hardees that was there ... prime real estate for which the value far outweighed what Soap and Suds could bring in ---

If the beer is too expensive at Green Laundry, you can walk across Brushy Creek Road and load up on Coors Light, fried chicken, and a Slim Jim at the Spinx. And, if you need to shop for some other items, you walk around the corner to the Dollar General.

What is "lander?"

I have fond memories of it! It was a bit of a hike from Johnstone, so the buzz wore off on the slog back to the dorm.

that Howell will get the last laugh on red meat eaters when he gets older.
Now, for me, I can't imagine passing up a good hamburger or steak!

It was open around '85 - '90, more or less. I hit it up a few times. Good times!

What was the bar right behind Hardees in the '80s? They had great long island ice tea.
