Renderings of New Scoreboards/Video Screens

Jun 16, 2012, 1:42 AM

at Death Valley, Doug Kingsmore, and Riggs Field. Riggs and Death Valley look great, I'm not particularly impressed with Doug Kingsmore. I wanted a new scoreboard (one that was more legible with larger spaces for the team names) and the elimination of the signs that don't work. I CERTAINLY didn't want more ads.

Those are crappy renderings and just when the football

stadium gets a more symetrical and classier look, they go and throw those screens up there with no framing at all. They just jut out there in the first open space they could find. ####, I wish they would take a little time to make them look like they weren's just thrown up there.

Reminds me of the ugly ### white building on top of the South Deck and the recently added ugly and tacky cell phone boosters.

As for the scoreboards, they don't look any different or better at all. And they need to make the conf championships more visible, not bigger as they are the right size, but why put them on a mesh screen where you can't even see them half the time.

Geez.

chill out a little homefry

those are just pictures of a photoshoped image stuck onto the existing scoreboards

on this site like to jump the proverbial gun before thinking about it.

Well if its just a photoshop pic on the existing

scoreboard, and that is what it looks like, then why does the athletic dept make a big deal and put them on the official site as renderings. So again, when a photoshop job like that is used as the official rendering, then the renderings are crappy.

I'll bet if a student in the architecture school submitted a photoshop rendering like that, he or she would/should get an F.

I understand about the chilling out, I get it. At what point does someone say the emperor has no clothes, after its too late to fix it?

like i said, its just a photoshoped image

They were just showing you where the new scoreboards were probably going, not what they are going to look like

It will still be symmetrical...In my opinion, much needed upgrades. I agree the WEZ doesn't exactly accommodate videoboards well, but it will add to the experience and allow people to see replays and tell the ACC refs how much they suck that much easier.

I'm looking forward to the sound system the most, though...Can't wait to hear 'We Will Rock You' on the new system for VT, GT, and South Carolina this year ;)

I'm nore excited about the new sound system. From what i've

heard,it's as good as they get.

Absolutely LOVE the screens in both corners of the WEZ

Jun 16, 2012, 8:33 AM

Ever since they built the WEZ, I've thought those corners were the best place to put some video screens, giving most people in the stadium a decent angle to see them. That being said, I hope they keep the screen in the east end zone as well (it looks like they are on the photos). It really completes the look.

I am with you on this...after seeing the way Bama's is with video boards in the corners I thought what a cool idea that was....I dont care if the board on top of the hill isnt extremely large ...just better qaulity video boards and more of them plus a sound system will make this place much better...I just hope one day we can make more seats arround the hill

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yup, it really completes the WEZ nicely from the inside.***
