For the Jack supporters who wanna blame the fans...

I'm with Dutch...fan support or a lack their of should NEVER influence a division 1 athlete. You don't make it that far by fan support. Heck, like Dutch says, if I was being criticized by the fans (and more than likely the coaches) for my performance, it'd drive me to do better...not sulk and pout about it and throw in the towel. It's most athletes nature to be competitive and strive to be better...hard to imagine us having any kind of major influence on them.
You Jack supporters can blame whatever you want, but setting your sights on the fans looks desperate. We had very little if anything to do with the way our guys played. I don't know where to really stand with Jack. I'd say give him one more year, but most would agree this team could possibly be worse next season with attrition so I'm not sure that'll do much good...

well you never know. lots here thought we'd be improved this year.
jack if he is given a year has to do a better job. where ever we are and however we do is on him. so if he has it where it will take multiple years to build up and he gets just one that just his tough luck

I don't see the point of giving one more year for a farewell tour. If he's not the right guy, make the move and let's right the ship starting today. If you think he is the guy, let him stay. Keeping him a year just puts off the inevitable if he has a mediocre to bad year. Or if he has one good year, we'll extend for more multi-year long term misery.

longer anyway. We don't owe him anything, Thank him and tell him he can either quit or he will be terminated. He should not continue under this kind of pressure nor should the fans have to put up with him any longer. Get it over with and move on.

60 is not that old for a college coach.
There are plenty of coaches that are much older than Jack

We don't owe him nothing? D@mn peanut why do you dislike Jack so much?
You do know since he came to Clemson under Bill Clemson has missed the post season ONE time?
You do know that Bill went 15 yrs without making it to the CWS and went to only TWO regionals in that time period.

Seriously you are siding with Dutch, who rides the coattails of his wife and has probably never had a real job. I'd be careful.

None of that has anything to do with his reasoning...

which is pretty sound. Would you not agree with him? Anyone that would disagree with his sentiment believes fans have a MAJOR influence on the athletes and determines their gameplay and competitiveness. To me, that sounds absurd. It sounds like an excuse, which, to my knowledge, Leggett brought up fan support himself. It sounds like a way to brush off the responsibility from him and his coaching staff and on to the fans. It's almost like saying, 'hey, you don't support us like you should so what results do you expect?' That's asinine. Do you think CoC gets more fan support than Clemson? You should always encourage fan support but it does so much more for recruiting and funding than actually influencing in-game play.
Sorry, love him or hate him Dutch is 100% right.

You can bet it has a TON to do with recruiting. Ask Hatfield
