Recruiting Steal

Jan 5, 2015, 7:07 PM

I think Amir Trapp is going to be a solid player. If he weren't 5'8 160, he'd be a 4 star. Given a few years in the weight room, he will be a grey shirt well used.

I agree. Is he someone we should count on to be a starter? Heck no. But size isn't everything. Look at William Likely at Maryland. Same size and was All-Big Ten

We had a db a couple of years ago that turned out to be one

of our better players. I can't remember his name but he got the last scholarship from us and was going to App. State. He came in and in his junior and senior years, we counted on him a lot. If anyone can think of his name it would be great, I am just drawing a blank.

He could be another Lamarcus Joyner. He's the 5'8" guy

who knocked Lattimore out of the bowl game a few years ago with a pretty good lick.

Not sure about son, but Dad was the real deal; could cover a WR like a blanket. Dad was not tall, but was fast and he could jump!!!

Hope son is just as good or better.

Go Tigers!!!!

Dad did not like Hatfield. I will leave it at that.

The weight room ain't gonna make him grow taller

Jan 5, 2015, 8:50 PM

That the issue. The kid has the skills to be a great player though. And the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I predict he will leave his mark at Clemson just like his Dad did.

Trapp is only just barely 17 years old. I grew four inches after I turned 17. Don't write that off yet. He is a year ahead in school

I hope you're right. I was near my adult height by age 17 and have only grown out since then, not up.

James Trapp was listed as being 6' tall by NFL records and his wife was a track athlete at Clemson.

He has good genes.
