There will still be artificial turf behind home plate...

and in the on-deck circles. There will also be about 6' of artificial turf along the bullpen fences. The grass gets worn out with all the use, especially between home plate and the Clemson dugout, so there basically has to be artificial turf from the maintenance aspect. I know you don't like anything, but it's a practical issue.

Did you intentionally post that deceptive photo on here or did you honestly not know that?

wow at some of your responses. where would they even find astro turf today. you are such a great fact finder. i would bet clemson was one of the first to put down that turf. now almost everyone is doing it. i am just guessing that we may just use some of the more modern field turf this time. but hey, that is just a guess. no telling what jack will do huh.

By Astroturf I mean the #### we have behind Home Plate now. It sure as hell is not the stuff we have at our practice facility.
Do you really think Clemson was one of the first schools to use turf grass?
Our practice field came after some schools like Ole Miss had it for their actual playing surface.

good lord you are dense. and please that is not a personal attack. i clearly said we were one of the first schools to use the turf around the home plate area. it is now wore out and will be replaced, much like the orange seats that turned pink.

And that turf is not the newer stuff that I was simply saying I hoped we replaced it with The old stuff looked closer to astro turf.
I made a simple comment that even baseball fan agreed with.

I was just hoping for what I see as something making BTF look ugly to be fixed. It's not just tiger field, I hate it on all college parks. I just think its ugly and BTF was always great before this was added and we never had issues.
anyway, why you always have to lash out.

The constant use including practice and regular traffic from the dugout to the weight room wears out the grass between the dugout and home plate and the path becomes a muddy mess.
