Did Dabo pull the starters to soon?

Seems like after waiting all year for the offense to finally do something he would've let them play at least into the 4th, they needed all the good snaps and confidence they could get to keep the momentum going. Can't just assume the O is fixed after 2 qtrs. Losing the 2nd half 7-3 and not even hitting 40 after scoring 35 at the half just didn't sit right. I know some have the win is a win mentality and still won comfortably, but you have to finish better than that, especially against a very bad UNC team.

I think so. I would have let them score and least two more times. and if they didn't score in the third, then throw the backups in and let them finish it. But Everyone should know who Dabo is by now, he isn't going to run the score up on anyone, but he isn't going to STOP the backups from scoring if they can. back in the DW4/TL16 days even our backups were scoring points.

Personally I wanted him to leave the starters in for another TD then put the backups in but what do I know. I've heard the arguements about not getting a guy hurt when it's already decided and it's not unfounded. I just wanted maybe a drive where they leaned on Randall burn the clock and shorten the game.

I don't think so in my opinion Dabo knows we got to start getting the guys ready for next year at another run at the ACC title.

What? With losing Cade, Woods, Parker, Capehart, Woodaz, and the best 4 of the 5 OL starters? The reality of the situation has not set in. Recruiting will be bad again, and next year will be a significant step down. No idea who you think is going to fill all these holes, but if there was anybody with any great ability they would already be on the field. We saw what the back ups looked like yesterday. Tyler Venables was the most impressive player on defense if that gives you an idea where the bar is set.

To be fair, UNC 1st possession of the 2nd half was a 9 minute drive. They did a good job of shortening the game themselves.

Coach didn’t want to run up the score on Coach Bill.

Either some issues were fixed in the off week, or it was the opponent. That will be answered in the coming weeks, not by an extra drive or two.

It was the opponent. Watching the replay on ACCN, many of our issues are still there. The players played well as individuals but the poor coaching is still apparent. Troy would torch UNC as well

really? up 5 scores and that's not soon enough? Here's a question:

how soon is too soon to get the next players some game time? Maybe just wait until the starter is hurt? Practice time and game time is a world of difference. If you've ever played or coached, this would be obvious.

Cade got pulled because we had lost momentum on offense and Dabo wanted to keep Cades confidence up.

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?

• Put up goal posts

What does a Gamecock grad call a Clemson Tiger grad in 2 years?

The season is practically over, no amount of winning can put us back into the playoff sooo, our backups need as much playing time as possible if we want to have a remote chance at the playoff next year considering on talent level will be dropping significantly.

No, because the same people whining about not leaving the starters in would be crucifying the coaching staff if they had been left in and someone suffered a significant injury.

The game was over - take the starters out and let the backups get some PT. This is how we used to roll during the good times, and it aligns with Dabo’s “development” philosophy.

If you’re always in close games, the backups don't get reps, and they’re trying to figure things out as starters the following year. Need to take advantage of a blowout when we can.

We got one good quarter of offense. The other 3 quarters were trash

More like 3 food quarters of offense rolled into one. Each game is one single battle. Nothing to be gained by running up the score.
