EF U Auburn?

Heard from my daughter who said that our student section was anything but classy. Starting a F**k u Auburn chant...really? C'mon guys we ARE Clemson and we ARE better than that.
Many of us "old folk" have been going to games since we were kids, we go to games now and take our kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews....don't ruin the game and experience for the youngsters...we didn't ruin it for you when you were kids. How many of you would have been chanting that if your mother, grandmother, or daughter had been sitting beside you? Slam away!

If you can't stop em from drinking, having sex and dumping classes how do you suppose to stop them from something as harmless as rude communications?

It's a perspective thing with me.

When my father died he and I had just reconciled from a fight over the length of my hair. His position was, that had I loved him I would wear my hair the way he wanted me to. My position was, the same from a different perspective.
I've since learned that I can't control my (7) childrens' perspective. I have an advantage over them however. I remember being young. They can't remember being old.
Sorry for taking advantage of the moment.

many only want the students there if they've lived/live life the way 'they' see fit. i'd blame today's music if that wasn't an already tired reason.
didn't the barkerists create a "let's pway nice" committee for fan behavior?

a little class...many words could have replaced the "Ef" word. Had the commentators said something about the chant many on here would be ready to ban students from the game. I'd just like a little self censorship.
I blame it on Swofford and the ACC...if we could get some night games we could get used to drinking all day and acting halfway civilized.

suit me. We had to remind some college students (AU) on Marta that there were children there. The chant by our students is unacceptable, but how do you stop it?

We are all there to have a good time. No need for that. On that note an Auburn fan threw a nerf ball as hard as he could at my direction when I wasn't looking whizzed past me and hit a woman in the face. Classy.

I dislike them less than other teams we play. I don't understand that level of aggression, unless it was just out of sheer bravado for being in a bowl game-like setting in the first football game of the year in one of the first weekends of the school year. Not an excuse, just thinking about it.
I've always sort of seen Auburn as kind of a weird cousin or step-brother for us, since we're so much alike. Because they're in the SEC, there might be some of that SEC vs. the world rivalry that's going on in college football today, but in general, I would rather see UNC or Ga Tech or FSU lose than Auburn (all conference implications notwithstanding).
Someone up here in Louisville asked me if our rivalry with Auburn was as fierce as our rivalry with South Carolina, and I about fell out of my chair. Now granted, basketball is king up here, and there is a lower level of awareness for college football - but still, it surprised me.
I would rank Auburn right under the Texas A&M level in terms of most hospitable fan bases.

Nothing more classy than spearing a QB on the ground or pulling on his facemask to get a breather from a fast paced offense. 1st class!

that's an Auburn tradition that flat out sucks. They've also chop-blocked us like pansies in the past, and Nick Fairley is one of the dirtiest players that's come through in a while.
I was thinking more about their fan base and the rivalry between us.

I completely agree......think about what fans say about the game day experience at Willy Brice, we are and have always been better than that. Even ESPN Game Day will not go back to Cootlumbia because of the foul language and the way they act down there.....let's not stoop to their level! Stay classy Tigers!!!

started in the upperdeck. From the lower deck, just sounded like "F U Auburn". I am sure some students were saying the real words but didn't sound like on the lower deck. Not taking up for them though. Still thought it was pathetic, especially when we still could have lost after the cheer.

I don't know if you have seen the old-school cheer book. but there were some pretty raunchy cheers in that book. I am not condoning what they did, but I am certainly not condemning it. Eff all barn and the SEC
